The Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Security, and the Ministry of Justice have issued regulations on protecting the rights of lawyers to practice law (Fa Interpretation [2065] No. 14).
Article 25, Paragraph 2: Lawyers may apply to the People's Court to bring paralegals to attend court hearings if necessary. Paralegals participating in court hearings can only engage in relevant auxiliary work and are not allowed to express defense or representation opinions.
Article 48 The term “paralegal assistant” as mentioned in these regulations refers to defenders, other lawyers in the law firm where the lawyer works, and interns applying to practice law.
