What are the procedures for learning Buddhism and becoming a monk?

First of all, you must check whether you are qualified to become a monk. There are some basic conditions for becoming a monk: no marriage, no lawsuits, no debts, no disabilities, good health, vegetarianism, observing Buddhist precepts, not too old (because the monastery has pension burden), etc.

Preparation After finishing, take your ID card to the living room of the temple and explain your intention to become a monk to the staff. If you meet the conditions for becoming a monk, the temple will generally keep you on probation for about a year before officially ordaining you.
