Guangxi technological college of machinery and electricity, located in Nanning, Guangxi, is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education and affiliated to the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Guangxi technological college of machinery and electricity is one of the first batch of national demonstrative backbone vocational colleges in Guangxi, and one of the eight national demonstrative vocational colleges in the National Action Plan for Innovation and Development.

It is a full-time institution of higher learning sponsored by the people's government of the autonomous region and headed by the sports bureau of the autonomous region. The college, formerly known as Guangxi Sports Cadre School, was established in 1956. 1958 was renamed Guangxi Sports School. 1960 was upgraded to Guangxi Institute of Physical Education. It closed at 1962. 1972 resumed Guangxi Sports School, 1984 resumed Guangxi Sports Institute, 1994 changed its name to Guangxi Sports Institute.
