Article 34 Correspondence between criminals and their close relatives living in China shall be approved by the case-handling organ, and if a meeting is requested, it shall be approved by the person in charge of the public security organ at or above the county level or the competent bureau or office of the state security organ.
Meetings and correspondence between criminals and their close relatives living in Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan Province and their close relatives in foreign countries, or between criminals of foreign nationality and their close relatives, guardians and personnel in embassies and consulates in China, must be approved by the public security departments (bureaus) of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government or the national security departments (bureaus).
Article 35 The prisoners shall not be interviewed more than once a month, and each interview shall not exceed half an hour, and each interview shall not exceed three close relatives. During the meeting, there should be case handlers and guards present to supervise. If they are foreigners, ethnic minorities and deaf people, the case-handling organ must also hire an interpreter.
During the meeting, it is forbidden to talk about the case, to use secret language and to pass items without permission. Those who violate the regulations and do not stop shall be ordered to stop immediately.

The Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of China People's Detention Centers and National Detention Centers stipulates:
Article 37: The daily necessities and books and periodicals of detention centers shall be managed by the detention centers; the daily necessities and books and periodicals of detainees' close relatives shall be kept by the detention centers after examination and approval. Cash is kept by the detention center, and can be paid by the supervised person when the supervised person has a proper purpose; Items that are not allowed to be kept shall be returned on the spot or after registration.
article 38 if a detention center receives and dispatches the letters of the supervised person, which are not entrusted by the case-handling organ, it shall be handed over to the case-handling organ for handling.

Article 31 A detention center, entrusted by the case-handling organ, may check the letters sent and received by the supervised person. If it is found that it hinders investigation, prosecution or trial, it may be detained and transferred to the case-handling organ for handling.
