Fan Jing has a total area of 567 square kilometers, heritage area of 402.75 square kilometers and buffer area of 372.39 square kilometers. ? The main protected objects are rare wild animals and plants and virgin forest ecosystems represented by Guizhou golden monkey and Davidia involucrata. The forest coverage rate is 95%, with more than 2,000 species of plants, 3/kloc-0 species of national protected plants and 80/kloc-0 species of animals.
On June 7th, 2008, Fan Jing was awarded as a national AAAAA scenic spot and a national nature reserve. It has been rated as one of the top ten summer resorts in China, the famous Maitreya Bodhisattva Dojo in China, a member of the international "Man and Biosphere Protection Network" (MAB) and a world recognized by the 42nd World Heritage Conference.
Climatic characteristics
Fan Jing mountain area is controlled by Southeast Asia Pacific monsoon and belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate zone. Summer is significantly affected by the southeast ocean monsoon, and winter is generally less affected by the cold wave. The annual average temperature in mountainous areas of Fan Jing ranges from 13. 1℃ to 14.7℃, with the average temperature of 25.3℃ in the hottest month (July) and 2℃ in Leng Yue (February). The temperature decreases with the elevation.
The annual frost-free period is 270-278 days, the annual sunshine hours are 900- 1 170 hours, the annual precipitation is between 1 100-2600 mm, and the precipitation season is concentrated in May-10, with an average relative humidity of 80%. According to the division of hot zones, there are obvious vertical bands, from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, there are middle subtropical zone, north subtropical zone, south temperate zone and middle temperate zone respectively.
