Hehe, I also graduated from this major, majoring in information and computational science, also referred to as computational mathematics. In our school, this major is located under the Academy of Mathematical Sciences and belongs to one of the three branches of the Department of Mathematics (basic mathematics, mathematics and applied mathematics, information and computing science). In the eyes of my classmates, there are three main development directions for this major: (1) Postgraduate entrance examination. This major has been well studied, and how powerful mathematics is. If you learn English well, it is not a big problem to take this major or transfer to other majors. (2) Turn to computer software. This major will offer many software courses (just not core courses), as well as discrete mathematics and numerical analysis (this course is more in-depth than numerical analysis in computer department). As long as you work harder, you can take an advanced software program. The future is no problem. (3) The rest is to switch to management, which is a bit messy. It depends on the trend of personal personality and hobbies. It's hard to say. There is also a promising development direction, which is to develop into financial mathematics. This is promising. Of course, the road must be difficult. None of us succeeded in that year, so it is beneficial not to take this road to study this major.
No matter what direction you want to develop, you should pay attention to it. You must learn all the professional courses well, and only on the basis of excellent study can you put forward the development direction. If you don't learn professional courses well, you will only have your own talent. If you don't devote yourself wholeheartedly to this major, it looks boring, and few schools in China have successfully opened this major. Math class is boring, and you will find it very useful after graduation.
