Nanyang Institute of Technology, located in Nanyang City, Henan Province, is a full-time public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and jointly established by provinces and cities. It is a university in the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education. The school was formerly known as Nanyang University approved by the Henan Provincial People's Government/KLOC-0 in May 1987, Nanyang Institute of Technology approved by the State Education Commission/KLOC-0 in June 1993, and the former Zhang Zhongjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was merged.
