When you change jobs, HR asks when you plan to have children, and how do you respond?

I have been thinking about this problem recently. I believe that many married and childless women will be asked this question when they apply for a job, especially after the country has liberalized the second child policy, having children is no longer an umbrella for women to apply for a job.

As an old HR who has worked in human resources for ten years, before answering this question, I want to talk about the interviewer's motivation for asking this question:

I'm worried that employees will get pregnant soon after joining the company, and they can't do a good job due to physical reasons. Why are there such worries? First, the actual situation, pregnancy and breastfeeding will have a certain impact and restriction on work intensity and working hours; Second, there are indeed some employees who take a long sick leave as soon as they are pregnant, which puts enterprises in a dilemma. They can't be fired, but they have to pay extra to recruit again.

The comprehensive quality of job seekers is not enough to attract interviewers, so the objective conditions of infertility are infinitely magnified. Back to the question itself, assuming that I have a deep desire for this job and have no plans to have children in the short term (at least 1-2 years), I can pay attention to the following two points when answering this question:

Answer directly and be sincere. Clearly inform the interviewer of his plans, including work plans and plans to have children. A friend of mine has a similar problem. At that time, the interviewer asked me not to have children for at least 1 year, and my friend sincerely agreed, and finally accepted it naturally, and my friend also fulfilled his promise. During this year, she worked very hard and was recognized by her superiors. Now she is the mother of the child, and her work is in full swing.

Give full play to your own highlights. Even if the interviewer is very concerned about whether you have children, in the end, it depends on whether your ability and quality match the position they need. Therefore, the response is just a sign, and the following points need to be prepared and considered before the interview:

Knowledge of the company. Including the company's culture, business model, development and so on, this so-called know yourself and know yourself, invincible. And this can fully reflect your sincerity in joining the job; Knowledge of the position you are applying for. Including job responsibilities and qualifications. It must not be just those in the recruitment profile seen on the recruitment website. The responsibilities and qualifications shared by all positions should be clear, and several key skills needed for the positions under the company should be found out according to the characteristics of the company. Match personal skills with job requirements. Last point, I mentioned finding out the key skills. The purpose of understanding is to show the interviewer that I have these key skills by describing my past work experience and professional knowledge and skills. What attracts the interviewer in the end must be your strengths and potential. Finally, I want to say, don't take when to have a baby as a problem. It's just a process that needs to be experienced for a period of time in life. The most important thing is to know what you really want and constantly polish yourself into a strong person who can realize your dreams.
