Of the eight people, Gong Xian is the most famous. Gong Xian (16 18 ~ 1689), whose real name is Qi Xian, is half a thousand words, and his real name is Banmu and Chai. A native of Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, lives in the Sweeping Leaf Building in Qingliangshan, Nanjing (now in Qingliangshan Park). He lives in a "half-acre garden" and grows flowers and bamboo.
His painting method is based on Dong's (source) residence (nature), works with landscape painting, makes good use of accumulated ink, and is often full of fun, winning with rhyme instead of strength. He advocates that painting and "nature have the same root, yin and yang are the same body", and his works give people a sense of intimacy with the mountains and rivers of the motherland. Representative works include Mu Huang Tu, Spring Hill Tower, Sailing Across the River, Ink and Wash Landscape, etc.
