There is no standard definition of the Internet of Things platform, just as the Internet of Things is not a new technology, but an application of existing technologies in new scenarios and new use cases. Each industry giant can integrate business and product lines according to its own business characteristics, separate from * * * technology and business processes, and reorganize a "business platform", which is called the Internet of Things platform. For example, system service/software vendors build AEP platforms by opening development tools and APIs; Industrial giants can provide an industrial internet platform by digitizing and packaging a part of proprietary technology into a set of solutions.
Of course, the construction of a platform is not as simple as it is said. It is a systematic project, which requires the integration and optimization of upstream and downstream resources and the logical reorganization according to business requirements and top-level planning, rather than simple superposition.
There are a large number of platform-based suppliers, and most of them can only provide a part of platform capabilities. In fact, such a company cannot be called an Internet of Things platform provider. If it only provides simple functions such as connection management or application enabling, it can only be called a connection management platform or an application enabling platform, but not a comprehensive Internet of Things platform.
What can the Internet of Things platform do? Based on IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) and SaaS (Software as a Service), the IoT platform has gradually improved its functional system, namely ICP (Infrastructure Cloud Service Platform), CMP (Connection Management Platform), DMP (Device Management Platform), AEP (Application Enabling Platform) and BAP (Business Analysis Platform).
