Science and Technology Education in Qingshan Primary School

In order to cultivate students' innovative spirit and practical ability, the school began to attach importance to students' science and technology education as early as ten years ago. Our school declared science and technology education as an education brand, which was strongly supported by the District Education Bureau. Constantly strengthen leadership, increase capital investment, set up Qingshan Primary School Association for Science and Technology and Youth Science and Technology Education Leading Group, set up a science and technology education studio, and formed a team of science and technology counselors with strong professional ability, good quality and enthusiasm for science and technology education. Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "laying a foundation for all-round development, cultivating individuality and promoting innovation", the faculty of the whole school takes campus as the main line, family as the position, teaching and scientific research as the starting point, campus science and technology month and scientific and technological innovation competitions at all levels as the carrier, permeates subject teaching, extends moral education activities, actively carries out small inventions and small production competitions, and cultivates students' hands-on, brains, innovation and practical abilities. Schools also give full play to their regional advantages, actively explore effective ways to popularize science and technology education, broaden channels of science and technology education, and strive to build a trinity of "school-family-community" science and technology education network. The school organized teachers and students to participate in the youth science and technology innovation competition at all levels, and won 2 national awards, 4 provincial awards/kloc-0, and 95 municipal awards. The school has won the "Excellent Organization Award" in Fujian Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition for many times, and won the honorary titles of the first batch of "Youth Science and Technology Education Demonstration Schools" in Sanming City and "Advanced Unit of Science Popularization Work" in Meilie District. Intellectual Development Education: According to the spirit of the Notice on Further Promoting the Reform and Development of Special Education during the Tenth Five-Year Plan, Meilie District opened an intellectual development class in our school in September 2008, focusing on special education for disabled students with severe autism, cerebral palsy and mental retardation.

There are 16 students in the mentally retarded class, ranging in age from 6 to 13, including 3 boys and 3 girls. These students all have different degrees of mental retardation, and some students have hyperactivity, abuse, autism and cerebral palsy besides mental retardation. Among them, there are 6 autistic and abused students, 2 cerebral palsy students, ADHD students 1 person and 7 mentally retarded students. Is there a teacher in the mentally retarded class? The textbooks used are intellectual training textbooks published in Beijing and Shanghai. The mentally retarded class has independent classrooms, rehabilitation rooms and activity places, as well as multimedia equipment, televisions, VCD electrical equipment and toys, intelligent communication cognitive trainers, multifunctional trainers, rehabilitation equipment, books and other teaching tools. Since its inception, the intelligence training course has invested more than RMB 10 million, which has been well developed with the great attention of the district party Committee, district government, district education bureau, district personnel bureau and municipal and district disabled persons' federations. The establishment of the intelligence training class has provided a paradise for the angel with broken wings who is locked at home to study, engage in activities and make friends. It has also filled the gap in educational services for disabled children in our region and won the appreciation of the society and parents.
