Why do nursing majors have to practice for eight months?

Nursing specialty is different from other specialties. In just one or two months, I can't accumulate much experience and I won't be very skilled. So it takes a long time to get used to it, so that we can face all kinds of unexpected situations without feeling so difficult.

Then why practice for eight months?

1. The necessary condition for taking the nursing examination is an 8-month internship.

According to Article 12 of the Measures for Nurse Qualification Examination, only those who have completed nursing clinical practice for more than 8 months in teaching and general hospitals and obtained corresponding academic certificates can apply for taking the nurse qualification examination.

To apply for on-site confirmation of nurse qualification examination, it is necessary to provide clinical practice certificate, and some areas even need the original internship manual. Therefore, if you want to engage in the nursing industry in the future, the first step is to take the nursing examination, and the necessary condition for taking the nursing examination is to practice for 8 months.

2. Practice is the only way to integrate theory with practice. The knowledge learned in school is basically theoretical knowledge. Although there is training in nursing skills, there is still a gap with the actual work of the hospital.

"I feel very shallow on paper, and I have to do it when I know it." Clinical practical nursing work is not only an armchair strategist, but also a practice. Therefore, even if we get a high score in the nursing examination and can't actually operate, it is equal to zero.

Some knowledge is dead in textbooks, but it is alive in the process of internship. For example, if you don't see the secretary, you can't take care of the diet of a patient with a certain disease, but during the internship, you can remember by seeing the teacher tell the patient not to eat anything every day!

3. Feel the actual clinical nursing work. During the internship, you will experience the joy of mastering every nursing operation easily, from the nervousness at the beginning of the internship to the sense of accomplishment of coping with improvisation calmly! Or maybe you can't stand the patient's bossing, the scolding of the patient's family, and running errands, and you really don't want to engage in nursing work in the future.

No matter how you finally feel, internship is an irreplaceable experience, and everything in the internship process will become a special memory.

4. A stepping stone to finding a job. Why do some students want to go to the top three hospitals for internship? First, the top three hospitals know more. Second, the internship experience in the top three hospitals makes the resume for job hunting shine. Some teachers can also write letters of recommendation for you.

Although there will be some chores unrelated to nursing during the internship, we can't just see these chores. At other times, some teachers can't teach you much, but you can learn a lot of knowledge outside the textbook as long as you watch and learn more!
