Zhoukoudian in Beijing has the most spectacular Huang Qi scenic spot in North China, with red leaves comparable to Xiangshan Mountain.

There are 200,000 wild Cotinus coggygria in Pofengling, which was once known as the most spectacular Cotinus coggygria scenic spot in North China. Behind the beautiful scenery, there are a group of "Red Leaf Doctors" who pay silently. For eight years, they have been volunteering to guide the scenic spot to prevent and control forest diseases and insect pests and protect this mountain forest.

Understand the habits of 200,000 wild cotinus coggygria

There are 200,000 wild cotinus coggygria in Pofengling Scenic Area of Huangshandian Village, Zhoukoudian Town, Fangshan District, and the best viewing period of red leaves is from the end of 10 to the middle of10. Since last weekend, the Red Leaf Festival has been held here. On the hiking trail, some "tourists" appreciate the red leaves in a special way-others stand in front of Huang Qi with mobile phones and cameras, but these people look at the whole red leaves carefully, take photos of the red leaves with cameras and write something in their notebooks.

They used to be experts in Guo Lin Science and Technology Service Center in Fangshan District, and were called "Dr. Hongye".

The villagers in Huangshandian Village all said that Pofengling can be regarded as a red leaf scenic spot comparable to Xiangshan by tourists, and it takes the efforts of several experts. Experts often climb up and down Pofengling at an altitude of 1700 meters to investigate the dynamics of pests and diseases and the growth of trees.

"Huangshandian Village can have today's attractions and homestays, and these 200,000 plants have contributed. If you are really sick, the golden signboard will be smashed. " Tian Wendong, director of the Forest Fruit Science and Technology Service Center in Fangshan District, said that due to the influence of climate, the possibility of wild cotinus coggygria in many places is increasing, but hard work pays off. Most of the 200,000 wild cotinus coggygria in Pofengling are still as red as fire. "Collect more leaves with powdery mildew, take photos, make notes, and be sure to work harder in winter management." Tian Wendong reminded the staff around him.

"It's rainy in Beijing this year, the National Day holiday lasted for 7 days, and it rained for 6 days in Pofengling. Too much precipitation will weaken cotinus coggygria. Without the help of experts, Huang Wei won't wait until it is red. Just blow for a few days and the leaves will be gone! " Zhang Jingang, secretary of the Party branch of Huangshandian Village, thanked Dr. Hongye for coming.

Experts became attached to the scenic spot as early as 20 13. At that time, the staff of Pofengling Scenic Area found that the red leaves were not red, and the person in charge found Tian Wendong. After he knew the situation, he immediately took Bai Shuming, a senior engineer, to "treat the disease" for Huang Wei, thus starting the work of voluntary guidance on forest pest control. It's been eight years.

"The Pofengling Valley is deep and thin, and the soil is barren. Wild cotinus coggygria is easy to get sick. Controlling powdery mildew is not difficult. Pruning should be scientific, so that trees can grow taller and the light transmittance can be improved. The germs on the ground can't reach, and the remaining branches must be cleaned up. " Years of "diagnosis and treatment" have made Bai Shuming and his colleagues more and more aware of the habits of these 200,000 wild cotinus coggygria.

Experts helped Pofengling to train a professional cotinus coggygria maintenance team of more than 200 people, and also presented it to electric sprayer and other professional pest control equipment in the scenic spot. Gao still remembers the first year when experts came to the scenic spot. "Bai Shuming pruned 30 typical cotinus coggygria and taught everyone by hand." During that time, the experts took the gardener, and the pruning branches were 20 cm thick on the ground every day, and the pruning rate of the whole tree reached 40%.

See through the "hidden master" of gnawing on Cotinus coggygria.

The climbing step of Pofengling is 6 kilometers long and can be completed in half a day, but it takes experts a whole day to climb the mountain every time. "You can't take a cursory look, many pests will be especially concealed and disguised." Zhou, a member of the expert group, said that there are a large number of 200,000 wild cotinus coggygria in Pofengling, and pests cannot be ignored. If the pests on a tree are not eliminated, the surrounding cotinus coggygria will suffer in a large area in a few days, endangering the life of the tree and causing irreversible effects.

Cotinus coggygria is a kind of "hidden master" who harms Cotinus coggygria. A few years ago, one morning in early summer, Gao hurried into Tian Wendong's office. "I don't know what this is. This bug only eats tree buds, and new buds can't be eaten by it. Please help me do something! " Gao showed the photos to Tian Wendong. With professional knowledge, Tian Wendong immediately recognized that this was the yellow scorpion beetle. "This kind of worm is clever and cunning, and it is good at camouflage to escape the pursuit of natural enemies. In the larval stage, it disguised as a small piece of' bird droppings' lurking on the leaves and eating at will. " Tian Wendong said that Cotinus coggygria eats a lot, and if it is not killed in time, the whole Cotinus coggygria forest can be eaten up. Members of the expert group took the gardeners for five days to control pests, but fortunately it did not affect the red leaf season of that year.

After the Toxoplasma gondii in Pofengling was controlled, experts came to Da 'an Mountain and Qinglong Lake to investigate. In order to find out the occurrence regularity of local Toxoplasma gondii, they also set up 10 sample plots in key areas for systematic observation, which accumulated valuable experience for the prevention and control of Toxoplasma gondii. In the second year, when Cotinus coggygria thrived again, gardeners controlled pests and diseases as planned, and the forest area was controlled to more than 20,000 mu, ensuring that the ecological forest was safe and sound. At present, Fangshan Guo Lin Science and Technology Service Center has extended Pofengling's experience in controlling powdery mildew and scab of Cotinus coggygria to Bai Rui Valley, Da 'anshan and other places.

May I protect this mountain forest forever.

Pofengling ten years ago was not as beautiful as it is today. Before 2009, Huangshandian Village used mining and selling limestone as its main source of income for a long time, and earned more than 3 million yuan for the village collective every year. Years of quarrying destroyed the environment. The villagers cut the burning incense-resistant Cotinus coggygria home as firewood, and the locals nicknamed it "Brokeback Mountain".

"With the development of the economy, the demand for urban people to travel to the suburbs will increase. If this mountain is turned into a tourist attraction, it may attract some tourists. " In 2009, the Party branch of Huangshandian Village officially decided to build Pofengling Scenic Area and close the limestone mine the following year.

From 2009 to 20 13, Pofengling Scenic Area was put into trial operation free of charge while building. The villagers realized that 200,000 wild cotinus coggygria plants were a fortune, and began to close mountains to facilitate afforestation, which could control the diseases and pests of cotinus coggygria and had to ask professionals for help. At first, there were many diseases in the red leaves of Pofengling. Due to lack of management, the grass under the tree grows wildly.

From 20 13 to now, in eight years, experts from Guo Lin Science and Technology Service Center in Fangshan District have turned Pofengling into a hot spot to enjoy the red leaves of Brokeback Mountain. Huangshandian Village has also developed more than 50 boutique homestays such as "Grandma's Home", and it is often "hard to find a room" on holidays. Scenic spots and homestays bring more than 20 million yuan of income to the village collective every year.

The village is getting richer and richer, but the experts from Guo Lin Science and Technology Service Center in Fangshan District have never taken a penny from the village, and they all volunteer to guide the prevention and control of forest diseases and insect pests. "In fact, we, like Cotinus coggygria on this mountain, have found the soil that suits us. It is our luck to take root, sprout, blossom and bear fruit here. If necessary, we are willing to protect this mountain forest and continue to do what we love! " Tian Wendong said.
