Legal basis: Measures for the Administration of Birth Medical Certificates
Article 3 A medical certificate of birth is a legal medical certificate issued in accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on Maternal and Infant Health Care to prove the birth status, blood relationship, nationality declaration and household registration of a baby to obtain citizenship.
Article 4 Newborns born in People's Republic of China (PRC) shall obtain the birth medical certificate issued by the Ministry of Health according to law.
