Huangshi National Mine Park is located in Tieshan District, and the smelting of the famous Hanyeping Coal and Iron Company refers to Daye Iron Mine. After a hundred years of mining, the east open pit of Daye Iron Mine has formed the world's highest steep slope with a drop of 444 meters. In order to control the ecological environment, the mine invested tens of millions of yuan to form the largest hard rock reclamation base in Asia.

In July 2006, one park and two districts, consisting of Daye iron mine area and Tonglushan ancient copper mine site area, were approved by the National Mine Park Review Committee and confirmed as Huangshi National Mine Park with a planned area of 30 square kilometers. This is the first national mine park in Hubei Province.

Huangshi National Mine Park covers an area of 23.2 square kilometers, including Daye Iron Mine Main Park and Tonglushan Ancient Mine Site. Daye iron mine has a history of 1700 years, and Tonglushan ancient mine site, a national key cultural relics protection unit, has a history of more than 3000 years. A major feature of the park is the Daye Iron Mine Museum, the first iron mine museum in China. Covering an area of 6,400 square meters, the museum has more than 65,438+10,000 words of historical materials, more than 600 pictures/kloc-0 and more than 80 cultural relics, which have witnessed the entrepreneurial history and development history of the mine for thousands of years.
