Kafen is the abbreviation of Caragas Iron Mine, a subsidiary of Brazilian mining giant Vale, with proven and controlled reserves of 7.2 billion tons. Iron ore is the best iron ore resource in the world because of its high grade, low alumina content, less harmful impurities and good sintering performance.
The weathering thickness of Lagas iron ore is between 100- 150m, and the oxidation thickness of banded magnetite is 500m. 80% of the reserves are composed of limonite with soft surface and hematite layer with a thickness of about 300 meters below it. Hematite is rich, but it also contains hard siliceous lumps, which is also the transition layer of the unfinished BIF below.
The contents of alumina and silica in iron ore products are less than 1%, phosphorus pentoxide is less than 0.03%, and manganese is less than 0.3%, of which 10% is lump ore and 90% is fine ore.

In the late 1960s, a helicopter of American Steel Company was exploring the Amazon rainforest and needed refueling. It took great effort to find a place to land.
