Bmw's 10 billion yuan power battery project landed in Shenyang

BMW announced today that it will invest 654.38+0 billion yuan to expand the Shenyang power battery production base and accelerate the development of electrification. This is another major investment after the Lida factory in June, which once again proves BMW's firm confidence in the China market.

Dai, President and CEO of BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. said: "The signing of today's agreement is the latest proof of our confidence in the German market and our commitment to promoting Sino-German cooperation."

This brand-new power battery project is located in Sino-German (Shenyang) high-end equipment manufacturing industrial park in Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone. After the expansion, the center will become the third power battery center of BMW Group in the world. BMW Group established BMW Brilliance Power Battery Center on 20 17, and its main business includes battery research and development, production and testing.

In June this year, BMW invested 654.38+0.5 billion yuan to build a Lida factory in Shenyang, mainly producing pure electric medium-sized sports car BMWi3. The Lida factory has increased BMW's production capacity in China from 700,000 vehicles in 202/KLOC-0 to 800,000 vehicles.

In fact, since 20 10, BMW has invested more than 83 billion yuan in Shenyang, and built a production system integrating R&D, procurement, powertrain and vehicle production. Shenyang has become the largest production base of BMW Group in the world.

Since joining the WTO, China has always adhered to the open concept of mutual benefit and win-win, actively promoted global cooperation and practiced mutual benefit and win-win. BMW seizes the key opportunity to achieve spurt growth. From the proposal of BMW Brilliance joint venture project passed in 2002 to 20021,one out of every three cars of BMW Group was delivered to customers in China, and the China market became the most important fulcrum of BMW Group.

Especially in recent years, as China has grown into the world's largest new energy vehicle market and the most important R&D center for new energy vehicles, multinational car companies represented by BMW have increased their prices in China.

At the previous 2022 World New Energy Vehicle Conference, Chairman Qi Puce of BMW Group said that BMW Group is full of confidence in the long-term development prospect of China market and will continue to increase its investment in China.

According to the data of China Passenger Car Market Information Association, in 20021year, the sales volume of new energy passenger cars in China reached 352 1 10,000, accounting for 53% of the global market share. The State Council executive meeting also made it clear that China will continue to support the development of new energy vehicles.

Experts said that at present, China has formed a strong competitive advantage in the middle and upper reaches of the new energy automobile industry chain. Especially in the fields of battery manufacturing, battery parts, battery metal processing and the like.

According to public information, by the end of 2025, BMW Group plans to deliver 2 million pure electric vehicles worldwide. In 20021year, the sales volume of BMW Group's new energy vehicles in China was only 48,000, far behind BYD and Tesla.

Therefore, BMW has strengthened its right to speak in the battery industry by arranging the Lida factory, expanding the battery production line and signing contracts with domestic battery manufacturers. Since the beginning of this year, BMW has successively signed ten billion euro contracts with three China enterprises, namely Yuanjing Power, Contemporary Ampere Technology Co., Ltd. and Yiwei Lithium Energy.

Li Hongbiao, a researcher at Northeast Revitalization Research Institute, said that Europe is facing challenges such as energy crisis and regional conflicts, while China's industrial chain and supply chain of new energy vehicles are not only technically strong, but also have lower manufacturing costs. China has a very broad market for batteries and automobiles.
