? Guo Miao Temple? Master Kanazawa

201February 3, 8

There are still some questions below that we will look at.

? First, during the lecture last Friday, Master said that we could feel the touch of color, sound, fragrance and touch in our dreams, but we didn't know it was false or empty until we woke up. So what we feel in this dream is what our consciousness and soul are feeling?

No, Buddhism does not recognize the soul. Soul is the concept of man in the world, and the concept of soul is immortal. It constantly changes the body and turns to various bodies, but that soul is always a soul. Buddhism does not recognize this kind of thing, but why can you feel it in your dreams? What I just said is our hearts, and our hearts are working. This heart can be called consciousness, but this heart is not something that will never change. For example, if we see a cup, or it is white, in fact, our consciousness is separating, and consciousness is separating it from white, so you know it is white. Then I saw this microphone, and you knew it was a microphone. This microphone is black. Then the consciousness of separation changed. It was white just now, and now it is black.

? In this American film "The Cycle of Life and Death", a dying person can leave his body and see himself operating on the operating table or being rescued. Is this what the soul is watching? Not the soul, but the consciousness. The Buddha gave him a name, the body born of consciousness. In fact, we confuse ordinary people upside down, cling to one self, and then cling to a body in our hearts, which can also work, just like being a body in a dream. Isn't there a body in the dream? The body in that dream can also work, and he can see everything in the dream, hear, see, taste and eat. He can do anything you can in real life. But when you wake up, you will know that there is no body in your dream, and that body does not exist at all. In fact, it is our heart in essence, and the information we store in it constantly presents a realm. Then we have a subjective ability, that is, nothing, that ability, that heart, that is true. It's just that he is illusory, but his capable heart has no image. It is not an independent individual. This is not the case in time and space. It transcends time and space. For example, when we dream, there are mountains and rivers and space in our dreams, right? There is still time. For example, I climbed the mountain for a long time and climbed to the top of the mountain in my dream. I think I climbed to the top of the mountain for an hour, and there was time and space in my dream, but was there really time and space? You'll know when you wake up, right? Since there is no time and space in the dream, does the heart that works in the dream and can perceive this dream have time and space? It is not a matter of time and space itself. Judging from this dreamy mind and fantasy, they are not things in time and space, or they are all beyond time and space. Buddhism only tells us that time and space are false, a concept fabricated by all living beings according to their own needs and various fantasies, and not real things. When doing surgery, what you look at is not the soul, but an intentional body that is obsessed with the heart. The conscious body is watching, just like the body in the dream. Then it's all about the soul. It's wrong, so leave it alone.

Second, there are always things that I don't want to do in my work and life, but I can't help but do them. How to deal with this kind of thing?

If you don't learn Buddhism, you can't do anything, or you will die of misery. If you study Buddhism, you will find a way. You can solve this problem by studying Buddhism well and then applying Buddhism to adjust your mentality. You don't want to do it because you have a position, you have persistent things in your heart, or you have other requirements in your heart. Then at this time you will know how to convince yourself with the truth of Buddhism. All these things, all your own experiences, are a force that you bring to yourself. Accept this karma first, accept this karma, and the pain will be reduced, because you don't fight, and then your pain will be reduced. At the same time, in this process, you gradually understand that I don't know what to do without learning Buddhism. After studying Buddhism, you will know that all the material and spiritual worlds you face are essentially a dream and a game. Is it a game or a dream Do you still have to solve the problem? No, you don't have to pay attention to it. Then you should play with your fate and deal with it. The original obsession with this world is real, and then all kinds of disappointments are pressed in your heart like mountains and disappear. The key is that you really want to understand the true meaning and inner truth of Buddhism with your heart! Once you feel accepted, all the problems are not problems.

Third, because of impermanence, it can be changed, but the Buddha's teaching of the future achievements of all beings, or pointing out the future rotation, seems to be unchanged. How to understand this?

? The content of Buddhist sentient beings becoming Buddhas, or what all sentient beings do, is different. After he became a Buddha, he just said that he realized that truth. Why didn't he change after he became a Buddha? He takes the initiative to conjure up all kinds of dreams, and he can live with all beings. There may be some problems in understanding this question. It is not constant, but will change. Everything is changing, including the pure land of Buddha. It is also a dream of change, but it is different. In other words, living in that place, this kind of experience and feeling is different from that of ordinary people. Let me talk about it first.

? Fourth, will those bodhisattvas who wish to come again get lost when they come to the world? If they are not fascinated, are they showing their lives to others? And their hearts can keep the Buddha clean.

? Whether the bodhisattva who wishes to come again will be fascinated by the same problem as the last one depends on his realm and rank. Generally speaking, you won't get lost when you first arrive. He wants to get lost. Show us. Then the whole process of the eight places is clear, so you won't get lost. As long as a saint or bodhisattva shows himself and comes back to make a wish, this saint means that he has reached the first place or above. This is called showing your face. As I said before, let's stop here.

Fifth, please ask the mage for mercy. How do ordinary people know which dharma field they are studying and how do they prove it?

? How do ordinary people know what kind of Buddhist realm they are studying? We must ask ourselves. There are six dharma realms: hell, evil spirits, animals, people, heaven and shura. So now we are among humans. You don't need to prove this, do you? You know it yourself, but it depends on how far you show the truth of Buddhism and how far you cultivate your inner realm. For example, you realize that the five aggregates are all empty, not only in principle, but also like Guanyin Bodhisattva, there is a standard to see that the five aggregates are all empty. What standard? At least your physical and mental world, according to Zen, is called vanity crushing, and the earth is flat, that is, your whole physical and mental world has disappeared and disappeared in your life. When you reach this point, it's called emptiness. The evidence is empty. According to the bodhisattva level of Mahayana Buddhism, you have reached seven bodhisattvas, that is, three sages, and the seventh one is a saint within ten lines and ten turns. Then after ten lines, six paramita lines, four shots, that is, ten paramita lines, then you enter ten turns. Ten-turn orientation is the process of constantly moving towards all beings, slowly leaving the realm that has been proved to be empty and returning to the truth of the middle way. What is the golden mean? Just don't live empty, don't live, and then slowly realize the inner Buddha nature of life and keep returning to Buddha nature. The last ten turns back to the middle of the back, and the middle of the back continues to study hard, reaching the position of four plus lines, that is, warmth, top, forbearance, the best in the world and the position of four plus lines. Once a breakthrough is made, it will prove to be the beginning, that is, the real Mahayana saint, the holy bodhisattva, or the Dharma Bodhisattva. There are standards in this Buddhism. As for the extent of your practice, you can verify it according to the standards provided by Buddhism.

? Sixth, why are the number of Buddhists in Western societies in Europe and America far less than that in other religions?

This is also karma, because Buddhism originated in India and later spread to China and Southeast Asia. Of course, this external form can't explain anything. The fundamental reason is the acceptance of Buddhism by all living beings. People who can accept Buddhism must have good roots and must have had a relationship with Buddhism before. Then, why do you think there are fewer people studying Buddhism in western societies in Europe and America? Because they don't have a deep relationship with Buddha, they have a deep relationship with Christ, you know. That's where Christ preached his Christianity. But now with the concept of this global village, that is, the transportation is developed and the information is developed, and the earth seems to be shrinking, so the spread of Buddhism is easier, and many people have the opportunity to understand Buddhism, so there are more Buddhists in Europe and America, but after all, it is the spread of Buddhism in the last days, and fewer people can really get a lot of great benefits than before. This is a question of human karma.

Seventh, how do ordinary people know that they will live in the western paradise? What is this standard?

Ordinary people, whether you can live in the western paradise depends on yourself. You firmly believe that if you can live, you will live. Because there is no problem with Amitabha, you firmly believe that you can go to life and believe that you are willing to do it. If you do it, you will definitely go to life.

? Eighth, thinking purely, how to distinguish between dull and motionless.

? Practice depends on what method you practice. If you are observing your mind, try not to be tempted. After a long time, there will be a process, that is, your reaction will be slower, but your heart can remain stable. No matter what you do, at least keep a clear understanding. If you keep a clear consciousness, don't be afraid of being slow. After a while, his reaction will be more sensitive, because his heart is steady and fine, and his observation ability is stronger, so his reaction will be more sensitive. Don't be afraid.

Ninth, how were those ancient buddhas, including those before Sakyamuni's incarnation, tempered? There were no classics and teachings of Sakyamuni Buddha at that time. Among the well-known sages, which practice Taoism according to the classics and teachings of Sakyamuni Buddha?

? These latter questions have nothing to do with our learning content, so let's talk about them briefly. How was the ancient Buddha repaired? Those ancient buddhas, are there any ancient buddhas? Time and space is the concept of ordinary people, so from the perspective of reality, the ancient Buddha proves reality and returns to reality. From the perspective of returning to reality, reality transcends the past and the present, so the concept of ancient Buddha itself is untenable. Don't dwell on this problem. The Buddha also told us that ordinary people, what you sentient beings should care about now is not the first cause. The first reason, linguistically speaking, cannot be established. What is the reason before the first reason? If there was a reason before, it was not the first reason. If there is no cause before, it is called no cause, so there is a first cause, so this first cause is no cause theory. So this is a paradox in the field of ordinary people, and it is a problem that our ordinary wisdom can't solve at all. The Buddha told you that what is important for you now is to become a Buddha as soon as possible, take medicine as soon as possible according to the method I taught, and cure the disease. None of these problems are problems. Buddha didn't answer the top ten questions. Because it is meaningless for us to fight against the liberation of ordinary people, and it is difficult to make it clear to you. To put it bluntly, that's it. Therefore, we will not discuss this issue. Practicing like the Buddha taught by Sakyamuni is good for everyone.

? Which well-known sages were trained according to the classics and teachings of Sakyamuni Buddha? In the Buddhist scriptures, there is the Dragon Tree Bodhisattva on our earth. It is the first Bodhisattva in the Buddhist scriptures, built on this earth as the first Bodhisattva, and also a real figure in history. There are also bodhisattvas who are not bodhisattvas, and bodhisattvas who are not bodhisattvas are also certified on the ground. There's a memorial in the secret. They say there's a memorial. I haven't seen it or found it, but it has been mentioned by Tibetan Buddhism and mentioned in the classics. There is also a Maitreya Buddha, who also appeared on this earth, in India, and then he went to heaven and went back before Sakyamuni died. Then these are classics, and some are not classics, such as the founder of Zen Buddhism. From Sakyamuni Buddha to Ye Jia, to the founder of Buddhism, to master Huineng, the sixth ancestor, all these achievements have been passed down from generation to generation. These ancestors can't pass on Zen until they have achieved it, and they can't pass on it if they have telepathy. So they, you see, from Buddhism to the twenty-eighth generation of Buddhism to the thirty-fourth generation of six generations, at least these thirty-fourth generations were successful, and then they scattered behind, and many people made achievements.

? Tenth, my friend said that going out to feed the sentient beings in the three evils at night means putting rice in your pocket, going out for a walk at night and scattering it on the roadside. Is this reasonable?

If you go out for a walk with compassion, you can take some in your pocket and sprinkle some chanting, but don't take this as a burden and don't deliberately go like this. You can do it. The key is to see how you care. In fact, it is good to have such a heart. You can also bless food by chanting and distributing.

Eleventh, is emptiness a state without any experience? There is usually a force that guides me to experience, and I constantly create new experiences, new experiences and human spirit. But after too much experience, I want to take it back and return to a state of no experience.

Wu Yun said that what you think and do is false. Your experience is a feeling. Don't chase this feeling, just look at it with the universal wisdom of Buddhism. Take a look first. You don't care what it is like. It's impossible to guess now. What is emptiness like? What is it like in Buddhism that the five aggregates are empty? You let go of your attachment until one day you are not attached to the whole physical and mental world. If you don't cling to the material world and the spiritual world, it will disappear, that is, the earth is flat and the void is broken. At that time, the space was really empty. I told you, the world is divided by consciousness! Interpret it with the spiritual consciousness of ordinary people. The first step is to know that it is empty and that it is a dream; The second step, you don't read it, you don't hold it firmly, it slowly loosens and collapses when pressed. Therefore, there are no contradictions and loopholes in all the teachings of Buddhism as a whole. There is no science in this world that is as complete and harmonious as Buddhism. Really, if you think it has contradictions and problems, you don't really look at it as a whole and don't understand it.

? Twelfth, students suggest that traffic jams often occur on the way to work. Can we have classes at seven next year?

? This depends on everyone's opinion. Yes! It is not easy to learn Buddhism, and time is tight. Try to coordinate and facilitate everyone.
