Our experience of sleeping in a car in no man's land of Hoh Xil

It was the end of March in 18, when we first entered Tibet. It took four people 16 days to enter Sichuan and leave Qingdao. I didn't feel anything wrong along the way, but I slept very little. On the day I leave Lhasa, I plan to leave at eight in the morning. As a result, everyone couldn't sleep after two o'clock in the morning, so I got up and set off.

The Qinghai-Tibet line starts from Lhasa 1 100 kilometers, and the no-man's land is 800 kilometers. Only Naqu and Tuotuo River have accommodation.

We should have stayed in Naqu for one night and set out through the no-man's land the next morning, but it was only noon in Naqu, and we kept walking, thinking of staying in Tuotuo River. In the afternoon, I went to Tuotuo River and went to the hotel to see if the environment was too dirty and bad to stay. We discussed it and decided to drive out all night.

It's after ten o'clock in the evening, and it's still in no man's land in Hoh Xil. It's dark at night, and there are big trucks all the way. Sometimes there are shells on the road, which is too dangerous. My husband drove alone from three o'clock in the morning for more than ten hours. He was too tired to get off the bus, so he found a place to park, and the four of us sat in the car and slept.

It was warm in the car when we first stopped. We chatted in the car and said we would go out at once. There are still many oxygen tanks left. It's unnecessary and wasteful, so we take them out and spray them on the car. After spraying, I felt the air was fresher, so we sprayed a few more cans. We were all tired, so we sat down and fell asleep.

I woke up in the middle of the night and kept driving for a while. Suddenly, the son remembered something and opened the car door. He exclaimed, mom, come out and look at the sky. I leaned out. Oh, my God ... endless nights fill the whole sky like black velvet, with diamond-like stars embedded in it. Looking at the beautiful vast Milky Way in the sky, I looked at it quietly. This is the ocean of stars, and my eyes are full at first glance. ...

It was too cold outside, so I got into the car and slept, curled up in the car, and four people covered a duvet ... There were four people sitting in the narrow space in the car, and the temperature was extremely low at night. The four of us barely rested for a while and got up early. In the morning, the car glass is covered with thick ice flowers. After the ice melted, we continued to move forward, reaching Golmud around 1 1 and leaving Hoh Xil.

The experience of this night is beyond words.

Shortly after returning to China, I saw a news that the driver and his wife who were driving a truck were sleeping on the plateau and died in the car due to lack of oxygen. It's still scary to recall our experience!

Give some advice to later friends. Try not to sleep in the car (except the RV) when going to the plateau. If you feel uncomfortable in special circumstances, such as traffic jam or snow, you should spray more spare oxygen in the car. Later, I read someone else's guide that it is also useful to spray oxygen into the room when staying in a hotel. Have a good rest every once in a while, don't be like us. Maybe it was exciting later, but it was extremely dangerous at that time.
