Xingshan County, the hometown of Princess Wang Zhaojun of Hanming, was founded in 260 AD.
In the third year of Wu Yong 'an in the Three Kingdoms (260), Xingshan was set up in the northern boundary of Zigui County, and it was named Xingshan because the county government rose in the mountains.
Changning County was established in the Northern and Southern Dynasties (Xingshan and Zigui were transferred to Changning).
