Two. Shanghai Conservatory of Music is the founder and incubator of modern professional music education in China. It is the first batch of "double first-class" universities in China. As an outstanding representative of music education in China, he enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad, and is known as the "cradle of musicians".
Shanghai Conservatory of Music, formerly known as the National Conservatory of Music, was founded by Mr. Cai Yuanpei and Mr. Xiao in Shanghai on1October 27th, 1927, 165438. The first president, Mr. Cai Yuanpei, is the first independent national music college in China. With the school-running philosophy of "applying western learning to practice", he established the professional setting and discipline system of professional music education in China. Since 1956, it has been renamed as a key institution directly under the Ministry of Culture, and now it is a joint institution of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Shanghai. In 20 17, it was listed as the first batch of "double-first-class" construction universities in China and selected as a high-level local university construction school in Shanghai.
After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Beiwen, Zhong, Yi, Liu Deyu, Xu Aizhu, Dong and Sang Xiufan successively served as Party Secretary, and He Luting, Sang Tong, Yi, Yang Liqing, Xu Shuya and Lin Zaiyong successively served as Dean of our college. There are now departments of composition, conductor, music, orchestra, vocal opera, piano, folk music, music education, music engineering, art management, modern instrumental and percussion, musical, digital media college (to be built) and Marxist college. There are 2440 full-time students, 528 faculty members, 307 full-time teachers, 29 foreign teachers, 36 international students from 33 countries/kloc-0, and 630 primary school students attached to the middle school.
Since its establishment in 1992, Shanghai Conservatory of Music has been adhering to the school-running purpose of "cultivating music professionals, introducing world music on the one hand, and sorting out national music on the other hand, so as to make it tend to be harmonious, and at the same time cultivating the consciousness and art of national beauty", adhering to the school motto of "harmony without difference, success through art", always sharing weal and woe with the nation, always standing at the forefront of the development of music art, and establishing and constantly improving the education system and school-running mode of professional music art in China. He shouldered the heavy responsibility of leading the development direction of professional music in China, accumulated a profound historical background, formed a distinctive cultural tradition, produced many famous teachers, produced countless masterpieces, trained several generations of outstanding leading musicians in China, and made important contributions to music education and cultural construction in China.
