First of all, is the transfer-out school from Shanghai or other places? Transfer to kindergarten? Elementary school? Junior high school? High school?
Different conditions have different restrictions on transfer.
Generally, kindergartens can go directly to the school for consultation before the school season. In primary school, if you transfer from middle school (not from the first year of high school), you need to reread for one year even if you meet the requirements.
Kindergartens and primary schools, non-school-age children in Shanghai, are enrolled nearby in principle, and parents are required to provide work records (payment or tax payment or residence permit) of 2 years or more in Shanghai.
In junior high school, because of the limited places, it may not be able to meet the requirements of admission nearby, and there is also a problem of enrollment rate, so it may be more difficult to transfer. Needless to say, high school is not a nine-year compulsory teaching, and basically it is necessary to return to China to study. Unless it is a fee-based loan, the college entrance examination will still have to return to the location of the student status.
In Shanghai, you can make an appointment in advance as long as you provide your parents' household registration and the real estate license of the school district. But primary school still needs to be re-read for one year.
If it is a high school, you need to go to the education bureau where the middle school is located for individual consultation.
