Visualization of automobile conceptual design
Honda Urbanev Exhibition was produced by Unity.
(Urban EV is Honda's zero-displacement electric vehicle)
By replacing physical models and prototypes with virtual rendering, real-time 3D can help developers find potential design problems earlier without testing multiple expensive iterations. In addition, real-time 3D can also help designers create content for interactive demonstration in a short time, help design concepts to be visualized, and help create a comprehensive upgrade.

Immersive design experience
Unity empowers XR immersive design experience
Many years ago, some car companies began to try to use the advanced 3D engine, combined with AR/VR/MR technology for review in the design stage. However, the industrial design review software has some limitations in multi-person collaboration and interaction, and it is difficult to customize and develop according to needs. The advantage of Unity real-time 3D engine lies in its high customization and strong support for cross-platform devices. Unity can use AR/VR/MR technology to superimpose the real clay model and the virtual experience car, open up the data link and realize the immersive design experience.

Make a cooler automobile HMI experience at a lower cost.
Real-time 3D technology is also expected to play its potential in the field of automobile HMI, redefining the in-car experience of people driving and riding cars in the future. At the 2020 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Unity and Iconcar * * *, the industry-leading automotive user experience consulting company, created an HMI experience based on NXP i.MX 8QuadMax application processor.
In this project, icon incar designed the user experience UX and interface design UI in the digital cockpit, and programmed the human-computer interaction experience. Unity ported the 3D engine and integrated the game and VFX experience into the HMI system. All human-computer interaction experiences can be realized by using touch screen and conventional gamepad, and can also be set as voice control or gesture control.
Icon incar and Unity*** have optimized this project to ensure that various HMI experiences can run smoothly and play well on NXP chipsets.

Automatic driving virtual simulation test
Shanghai international automobile city virtual simulation test platform, real-time simulation of weather changes.
Real-time 3D technology also plays an important role in algorithm training. By simulating unexpected emergencies in the virtual world, such as car accidents, extreme weather conditions, trees falling on the road and so on. Real-time 3D technology allows unmanned vehicles to learn and improve their own algorithms under the conditions of safety, low risk and low cost. Recently, Shanghai International Automobile City cooperated with Unity to build a virtual simulation test platform for autonomous driving to help car companies conduct autonomous driving test and training in a virtual environment.

Immersive virtual training
Immersive virtual training experience
Every year, various automobile enterprises and auto parts manufacturers hold employee and dealer training meetings, which often require people from all corners of the country to arrive at the designated training center, thus consuming a lot of time, energy and cost for enterprises. At present, many car companies have begun to use real-time three-dimensional interactive online training platform for training. Students can enter the virtual world to start training without traveling, wearing XR equipment and online training platform, which greatly reduces the burden on enterprises and employees.

Brand innovation and marketing
It is difficult to distinguish between real and virtual rendered cars.
In order to attract consumers, many automobile brands have realized remote car watching, virtual test drive and other applications with the help of new technologies, bringing consumers an interactive car buying and exhibition viewing experience. Previously, in order to highlight the effect of real-time ray tracing, Unity and NVIDIA jointly exhibited 20 19 BMW 8 Series Coupe. In the exhibition, the audience can see the real car and real-time car rendered by Unity and NVIDIA, which is difficult to distinguish between true and false.
