In the first half of 2008, under the leadership of the government and enterprise customer department of China Telecom Group, in order to fully show the corporate image, brand, business and development achievements of China Telecom to Chinese and foreign guests during the Beijing Olympic Games and vigorously publicize the development achievements of China's telecommunications industry, we seized the opportunity of the "Double 200" exhibition promoted by the "People's Olympics" of the Beijing Olympic Games, gave full play to our advantages as one of the nine key exhibition venues, and focused on completing the "Special Exhibition of China Telecom Olympics" to closely follow the Olympic Games. Under the leadership of the museum, all the staff members, Qi Xin, worked together to complete the tasks in the first half of the year according to the annual work plan, which laid a good foundation for comprehensively completing this year's work objectives.
First, actively prepare for the Olympic Games as an opportunity to spread the brand of China Telecom.
The museum has a superior geographical location and is rich in telecommunications historical and cultural resources and venue resources. As one of the nine key exhibition venues of "People's Olympics" in Beijing during the 2008 Olympic Games, we seized the opportunity of the Beijing Olympic Games, fully utilized and integrated the center resources, formulated and implemented the overall plan for welcoming the Olympic Games, and made good service guarantee and corporate image promotion for the group company.
1. Successfully completed the design, construction and exhibition of "Welcome to the Olympics-China Telecom Special Exhibition".
"Welcome to the Olympics-China Telecom Special Exhibition" is the focus of the museum's work in the first half of the year. With the strong support of various departments of the group company, the formal design was completed in late February, construction started in mid-March, basically completed by the end of May, and related software and hardware debugging was completed in June. As a project submitted to Beijing to participate in the "200 Olympic Boutique Fixed Exhibition", it was exhibited as scheduled in July.
"Welcome to the Olympic Games-China Telecom Special Exhibition" includes corporate image display, business pilot, my E-home key brand display, e-government, information pastoral, personal informatization and other key business display projects. Take the Beijing Olympic Games as an opportunity to spread the corporate mission of China Telecom to "let customers enjoy the new information life", show the strength of China Telecom as a domestic comprehensive information service provider, and let the audience remember "China Telecom" and recognize China Telecom while experiencing the convenience and beauty of the new information life.
Compared with previous museum exhibitions, this exhibition is more exquisite, fashionable, close to life and refreshing. First, the content is novel, showing the services and brands that China Telecom is focusing on promoting to customers, and showing the latest technologies and technical applications of current telecom development; Second, new technical means are used in the form of exhibition, such as e-books and floor screens. The use of a large number of computers, digital TVs and touch screens, combined with communication networks and various application platforms, enables the audience to intuitively experience various new telecommunications technologies and services, providing a better platform for further displaying China Telecom's rich information products and services; Thirdly, in order to meet the ever-changing exhibition demand with business innovation, we have adopted an exhibition mode that is easy to update and adjust, which not only meets the current exhibition demand, but also reserves space for the adjustment of future exhibition content.
2. Complete the preparation and exhibition of "Welcome to the Olympic Games-Sports Characteristic Phone Card Exhibition".
We give full play to the brand appeal of China Telecom Museum, unite with China Collectors Association and other social forces, and take the opportunity of Qingdao International Telecom Card Exhibition in 2008 to conduct extensive exchanges and communication with card collectors all over the country. We successfully organized and seconded 23 sports calling cards with rich contents and novel themes, and in a short time, we decorated "Welcome to the Olympics" as a project submitted by our library to Beijing for the "Temporary Exhibition of 200 Excellent Olympic Products", and the "Special Olympic Calling Card-Sports" was exhibited as scheduled in July. Taking the Olympic Games as an opportunity, it shows the development history of the Olympic Games, popularizes sports knowledge, and further enhances the popularity and influence of China Telecom Museum.
3. Completes the supplement and adjustment of "International Foreign Affairs Gift Exhibition" on the existing exhibition line.
We actively enriched and adjusted the exhibition routes, and moved the exhibition content of Chen Zhong's "China Telecom" part of the original telecom development history exhibition to the "China Telecom Special Exhibition", supplemented by some exquisite international foreign affairs gifts collected by the former Ministry of Information Industry, which achieved good results in both content and form.
4. Timely publicize the positive role played by China Telecom in Wenchuan earthquake.
In order to publicize the great role played by China Telecom in ensuring smooth communication during the Wenchuan earthquake, our library set up a publicity column in a prominent position on the first floor to help the public visiting the library understand the great efforts made by China Telecom and its role as a mainstay in earthquake relief.
The Olympic Games is just around the corner. With the exhibition as the way, the new business of China Telecom as the theme, the characteristic telecom card as the carrier and the sports theme as the link, the Olympic Games will be closely linked with China Telecom, and the Olympic Games will be used to fully display the corporate culture and development achievements of China Telecom, publicize the latest technology of telecom development, and enhance the corporate image and brand value of China Telecom.
Second, lay a solid foundation and attach importance to museum infrastructure and cultural relics collection and collation.
With the guidance and support of the group, the center has strengthened its contact with companies in various provinces and established cultural relics collection channels. On the basis of full investigation and understanding of the information of telecom cultural relics in various places, the collection work should be carried out purposefully and pertinently, for example, for several provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in a certain area, or for a certain type of telecom cultural relics in a planned way. At the same time, pay attention to opening up channels for collecting cultural relics outside the telecommunications system and collecting representative telecommunications cultural relics and historical materials. Thanks to our joint efforts, great progress has been made.
At present, the retired equipment of Shanghai Telegraph Center and Guangdong Microwave Communication Center has been collected, including two sets of optical communication equipment with high collection value and one set of simulated microwave equipment. A large number of telecommunication literature materials with high collection and research value from the beginning of the 9th century to the 1970s were collected from Beijing Centennial Telephone Museum, which not only enriched the collection, but also took the exploration step of collecting cultural relics outside the telecommunication system.
We also strive to do a good job in the restoration of cultural relics and use external professional maintenance forces to repair scattered and damaged equipment in the collection. In line with the principle of "repairing the old with the old", strive to restore the original appearance of the equipment to the maximum extent; In order to meet the publicity needs of the Group to launch mobile communication services in the future, the collection of representative mobile communication terminal equipment in China was carried out in a targeted manner; Strengthen the construction, collation and standardized management of telecommunication cultural relics database, provide relevant cultural relics information in a timely and accurate manner, and establish an electronic archives information database; Actively organize and participate in the "museum rating work", constantly strengthen communication and cooperation with relevant competent departments, actively carry out foreign exchanges, strengthen contact with relevant institutions such as Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau, Beijing Museum Society, Beijing Science and Technology Commission, Beijing TV Station, China Education TV Station and other media, and exchange and observation activities with other museums such as film museums and railway museums are also increasing, which broadens our horizons and ideas.
On World Telecommunication Day 5 17, we cooperated with China Communication College to actively carry out related publicity activities, and received disabled students from Beijing No.4 School for the Deaf to visit the library for essay writing activities, which was well received by China Communication College and was identified as the first batch of popular science education bases in the communication industry.
Third, strengthen research and do a good job in yearbooks, local chronicles and publications.
One of the main responsibilities of the Museum of Literature and History is of special significance today when the 3G era is coming and the telecommunications industry is facing huge variables such as restructuring and splitting. In the first half of 2008, we actively carried out all kinds of work, gave full play to the advantages of the company's historical research, and made every effort to organize the yearbook, historical records and related publications of major customers of the group company.
1. Continue to compile China Telecom Yearbook.
(1) My China Telecom Yearbook (2007). On the basis of strengthening communication with enterprises at all levels of the Group, we successfully completed the compilation of China Telecom Yearbook (2007), with more than 800,000 words, divided into two volumes, covering the major events of the Group in 2006. In the process of compiling, we constantly sum up the past experience, collect important information about China Telecom through various channels, and conduct detailed research to further innovate the compiling ideas.
(2) Collect and sort out information.
We collect information about the communication industry from various sources. In 2008, * * * collected nearly 2,000 pieces of various information materials and more than 300 pictures of China telecom communication industry. According to the information content, source, time and place, an information database is established to provide information materials and information retrieval for the compilation of China Telecom Yearbook in 2008 and the development of new services. In the process of collecting information, we should constantly sum up experience, improve the ways and means of information screening and classification, and improve the practicability and accuracy of information materials.
