Another feature of Huashan Mountain is that there is only one road leading to the mountain, so there is a saying that Huashan Mountain has been the road since ancient times. Of course, for heroic PLA soldiers, climbers and farmers who collect medicines, that is another matter.
Climbing Huashan usually starts from yuquan hospital at the foot of the mountain. Walk along the valley, about twenty miles, and you will reach a place called Qingkeping. There is a big stone on the east side of it, engraved with the words "returning stone". From here up is the dangerous road of Huashan Mountain. These three words are to tell those who are weak and timid that they can come back here.
Yan Hou di di thousands of feet Zhuang
After turning the stone, I came to the "thousands of feet Building" in Huashan throat. This is a path on a very steep cliff, with more than 370 stone steps. The width of the stone steps can only accommodate one person up and down, and chains are hung on both sides. People held hands and climbed the chain step by step. When they looked up, they saw a little sky. Looking down is like standing on a deep well. The top of a building thousands of feet is like a wellhead. The cliff here is engraved with the words "Taihua throat" and "swallowing the sun". The situation is as dangerous as the throat. There is another dangerous road-Bai Chi Canyon-when the cautious tourists climb the building thousands of feet high and go forward. After leaving the gorge, after crossing the Xianren Bridge, there is a dangerous road "Laojun Plow" in front. Legend has it that the old gentleman in Taishang led the young cattle in his hometown and plowed a path on this steep wall. Walking through the "Laojun Plow" with more than 500 stone steps, we climbed the North Peak at an altitude of 1500 meters. It is surrounded by cliffs, just like a platform, so it is also called Yuntai Mountain.
The story of "Hanyu Bookstore"
From the north peak to the south, we broke through the dangerous places such as "Fairy Edge", "Ladder" and "Yan Wangbian" and came to a ridge called "Black Dragon Ridge", which was dozens of feet long and only over 2 feet wide. There are steep cliffs on both sides here, and only this stone ridge leads to the other side. If people walk in it, they will feel scared. Fortunately, there are railings on both sides. Just hold the railing and walk slowly without looking at dangerous places. There is a Hanyu Bookstore here. It was Han Yu, a great writer in the Tang Dynasty, who swam to Huashan and finally got up the courage to climb the "Black Dragon Ridge". Looking back, he was shocked. The mountain road was so dangerous. Thinking that he might not go back this time, he wrote a suicide note and threw it into the mountain stream. The cliff here is engraved with the words "Hanyu Calligraphy Office". This story is probably made up by later generations, but it vividly expresses the danger of this situation.
After passing the "Black Dragon Ridge", you can reach Nanfeng, the highest peak of Huashan Mountain. Then come down from Nanfeng and go to Dongfeng and Zhongfeng. There are also many dangerous roads. It's amazing how many empty piles and badminton flips there are in Huashan. Be careful step by step. According to Cai Jun, an old dragon who has personally been to these two dangerous places, he reported face to face that he returned to his place of accommodation and was awakened twice in the middle of the night, both of which were "scared" by the dangers he saw during the day. Due to the unfortunate incidents of people falling off cliffs from time to time in Huashan Mountain, relevant departments have widened roads and increased protective facilities in the most dangerous places. There are ascending and descending roads in some places, which makes climbers feel safer.
