There are six forms of warfare described by information warfare:
1, mainly using information technology-based weapons and equipment systems;
2. Take information as the main strategic resource;
3. Information-centric warfare is the basic operational mode;
4. To compete for information resources as the battlefield goal;
5. Armed with information as the main body;
6. Implement the war guidance based on the information military theory.
The biggest difference between information warfare and previous wars is that the position and function of information have changed. As a new type of resource, information has changed the mode of action of matter and energy, and then changed the winning mechanism in combat, and has undoubtedly become a new leading resource to produce combat effectiveness.
Advantages of information warfare:
Integrated joint operations have become the main form of information warfare. Information warfare takes information attack, long-range precision strike, large-scale strategic air strike and other non-contact operations and nonlinear operations as its main operational styles. Combat operations are carried out in an all-round way in the electromagnetic multidimensional space of land, sea, air, sky and network, and all services and arms are closely coordinated and highly integrated to implement integrated joint operations.
Information control right has become the commanding height of competition. The core role of information in information warfare exceeds any previous form of war. Whether military operations can be effectively organized and prepared, whether strategic campaigns and tactical plans can be successfully implemented, whether the deployment of troops and weapons is reasonable, and whether all kinds of soft and hard killings are accurate and effective will depend on the speed, quantity and accuracy of information acquisition, processing and use.
Whether the information control right can be obtained directly affects the progress of the war and the final outcome of the war. Therefore, the struggle around the right of information control is unprecedentedly fierce and has become the focus of confrontation between the two sides. Information warfare will gradually become the basic form of future war.
