In fact, after arriving in Suzhou, I definitely want to eat mutton with books. There is a small town with books in the suburbs of Suzhou, which is actually a hilly area. As early as the Western Han Dynasty, there was a young man named Zhu Maichen. Because the hilly grass in this area is particularly plentiful, he likes to herd sheep here, but he eats local grass and Zhu Maichen reads here. Every time his wife comes to inspect the post, he hides the book under the stone. Finally, the East Vietnam began to rebel, and Zhu Maichen made suggestions to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty with his knowledge of herding sheep and reading. It is by relying on his strategy that East Vietnam has been defeated, and Zhu Maichen has become the satrap of Huiji. Because he used to hide a lot of books here, this town is called the collection town.
Cang Shu Town is surrounded by mountains, not far from Taihu Lake, where sheep eat fat grass and drink Taihu Lake, so the mutton here is fat and tender, and later mutton gradually became a local specialty. During the slack season, farmers in Cang Shu Town will stew mutton and sell some mutton to earn a little money. Because the stewed mutton here is particularly delicious and famous, it has become a local signboard over time, and many Suzhou people especially like to eat the mutton here.
The mutton in Cang Shu Town is really distinctive. The soup is milky white, and the mutton with bones is particularly fresh and tender, with a very fragrant aroma, and the entrance is particularly soft and waxy. The cooking method of mutton in the library is also very unique. There are many large and small mutton shops in the local area, but most of the mutton in these mutton shops is not local mutton, but mutton from Inner Mongolia.
