2. We should consider the development of the whole industry. There must be a demand market for developing ERP software. As far as I know, small and medium-sized enterprises in China have great market demand, but this demand will not break out in a concentrated way (unless the state requires enterprises to do so through laws). The market capacity is so large and there are so many software vendors, which is unbalanced. ERP software, as an application software embodying management ideas, has its life cycle.
Combined with the overall development trend of ERP industry, this industry will gradually become saturated! Now the industry competition is extremely fierce! Moreover, there are more and more ERP practitioners now, and many people naturally aim at high salary or satisfy their vanity. Many people are simply not suitable for this industry! Thereby intensifying competition! To a certain extent, it also affected the healthy development of this industry!
3. Find your own position and choose a good position! The ERP industry can be subdivided into countless directions and units, and each unit has many specific departments, which can be further refined. If you can't find the direction, you must first learn more about this industry and find a position that suits you. The following are mainly about the positions of ERP consultants, which are all my humble opinions. Welcome criticism and correction!
Generally speaking, ERP consultants are mainly divided into: pre-sales consultants, application consultants (implementation consultants), technical consultants, database administrators (DBA) and so on.
1) Pre-sales consultant: a high-end technical support consultant who cooperates with the sales team, combines enterprise management theory, product knowledge and customer needs to show the company's image and good service, thus effectively defeating competitors, facilitating the signing of bills and reasonably reducing project risks.
2) Technical consultant: responsible for technical consultation and implementation. Usually, it is necessary to carry out secondary development and customized design according to business requirements, and have the platform development ability and master the relevant development tools of ERP system! Understand the process of the enterprise and so on.
3) Application consulting (implementation) consultant: master relevant functional modules, be familiar with enterprise business processes, professionally customize solutions, and rigorously train customers! Assist technical consultants in platform development and so on.
4) Database Administrator (DBA): Responsible for database development, design, configuration, backup, maintenance, optimization and management.
In particular, application consulting (implementation) consultants should be very familiar with production business processes. Because ERP software itself is an advanced management idea, application consulting (implementation) consultants should also have a deep understanding of management knowledge. At the same time, you should also have some knowledge of computer software and hardware. Implement the consultant's extraordinary communication skills, otherwise it will not be implemented. The key is that you should not only use technology, but also actively learn and understand management, grasp the characteristics of enterprises and guide customers appropriately. In other words, your responsibilities also include making suggestions for management improvement to customers. (In fact, many application consulting (implementation) consultants are very poor now, and they can't make good suggestions, and many companies don't care! When you grow up to be a gold medal consultant, you will be worth a lot.
The future development of technical consultants is greater than that of application consultants, and many technical developments are interlinked! For example, the technical consultant of our company's java group can choose ERP vendors, ERP consulting implementers (Party B), customers (Party A) and professional software development companies in the future! Application consulting (implementation) consultants are a little smaller than the future development, and will rely heavily on a specific ERP solution, such as ORACLE's, so it is difficult to jump out of this circle in the future! The future development will be closely linked with Oracle Bone Inscriptions! The choice of future units also has great limitations! Of course, we must also analyze specific problems! The size of development is relative and varies from person to person, which can be relatively transformed!
