In order to ensure the continuity and comparability of the list, this latest ranking of 20 18 cities' commercial charm follows the five indicators of the previous year, such as concentration of commercial resources, urban hub, urban crowd activity, lifestyle diversity and future plasticity, and maintains the original algorithm framework: the weight of the first-level indicator is calculated by the expert Committee of the new first-tier city research institute, and the data below the second-level indicator is calculated by principal component analysis.
Among the 338 cities above the prefecture level in China, except for the four first-tier cities of Shangbei, Shen Guang and Shenzhen, the list has named 15 "new first-tier" cities, 30 second-tier cities, 70 third-tier cities, 90 fourth-tier cities and 129 fifth-tier cities.
