West Lake University now has three schools: School of Life Sciences, School of Science and School of Engineering, which recruit doctoral students according to the first-class disciplines. The enrollment majors are:
School of Life Sciences: Biology (07 10), which is also open to students interested in basic medicine, pharmacy, clinical medicine, public health and preventive medicine, ecology, biomedical engineering and other life science-related majors.

2. Introduction of West Lake University
Westlake University, located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, is a new non-profit institution of higher learning sponsored by Hangzhou West Lake Education Foundation, run by social forces and supported by the state.
Universities are expected to learn from the scale of California Institute of Technology and the philosophy of Stanford University, adhere to the orientation of "high starting point, small but refined, research-oriented", and set up first-class disciplines around science, life and health, cutting-edge technology, etc. Leading by top talents, set up relevant departments. First, the enrollment of doctoral students will be completed in the name of the research institute, with emphasis on science and engineering, and then for undergraduates. The school has been approved to set up a national postdoctoral research center, which is qualified to recruit postdoctoral researchers independently.
