Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, founded in 1958 and originally named Guizhou University of Finance and Economics on 20 12, was renamed with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is a training base for economic management talents in Guizhou Province, which is built by the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government. Professor Hong Yinxing, a famous economist, winner of "Sun Economics Award" and former Party Secretary of Nanjing University, served as honorary president of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics.
Since its establishment, the school has been adhering to the spirit of "working hard, being rigorous and pragmatic, carrying forward with heavy burdens and having far-reaching influence", adhering to the school motto of "being moral, learning, constant and innovative", adhering to the service orientation of "based in Guizhou, facing the southwest and radiating the whole country", devoting itself to "enriching the people and prospering Guizhou", cultivating a group of "Confucian businessmen" who have applied their knowledge and trained 60 people for the country and society.

There are 65 undergraduate majors, covering 8 disciplines, including national first-class undergraduate majors 10, national characteristic majors 6, provincial first-class undergraduate majors 1 1, provincial demonstration majors 9 and provincial characteristic majors 4. There are 1 national economic management experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 national economic management virtual simulation experimental teaching center and 1 national talent training mode innovation experimental area.
