Brief introduction of liaison office
The Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (hereinafter referred to as the Liaison Office), formerly known as Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong Branch, was established in May 1947, and is an agency of the Central Government in Hong Kong. Before Hong Kong's return to the motherland, Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong Branch, as the highest representative office of China people and China government in Hong Kong, performed various duties entrusted by the central authorities. After Hong Kong's return to the motherland, Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong Branch continued to perform its duties as a working organization authorized by the Central People's Government.
