The Origin of Eastern and Western Buddhas

The origin of the eastern and western Buddhas is believed to be related to the dispute between the holy land (located in the west corner of Quancheng, belonging to the holy shop) and the Fengchi land (located in the east corner of Quancheng, belonging to the three religious shops), but there are different opinions on the reasons. There is only blue theory in Chen's Quanzhou View of East and West Buddhas, and the rest are folklore. In folklore, the theory of giving is the most popular.

At the beginning of the Qing army's spring, repression and slaughter were carried out, and there could be no dispute between things among ordinary people. Then, in order to isolate the support for Zheng Chenggong, the Qing government moved the border cruelly, whining everywhere, and being surprised for a night, the East and the West could not fight at all. The formation of the Eastern and Western Buddhas must have been after the unification of Taiwan Province Province in the 22nd year of Kangxi (1683) and the lifting of the maritime ban in the 23rd year of Kangxi (1684). This is also consistent with the theories of Shi, Fu and others in time. Chen said in "A Guide to Observing the Eastern and Western Buddhas in Quanzhou in Universities": "When I was handsome, Lan Gong (see Quanzhou People's List) began to distinguish the names of the Eastern and Western Buddhas. At that time, I only talked about the terrain." "Handsome and good at jade birds, taking spring as carp Guo (Quanzhou was called Licheng in ancient times, see Quanzhou Ancient City), so it is better to move than to be quiet, so the contest will meet God, and everything is to pray for the country and the people." "The heir is a plastic idol of a shop, and he also sealed the words' Guotai Min 'an', and the county has been talking about it since then."

"A shop" in Chen's Ce refers to a holy shop. During Feng Shengpu's reign, Marshal Tian Tian was the shopkeeper. This year, Feng Shengpu built the Feng Gongsheng Palace, decorated the golden body for Marshal Tiandu, and wanted to make a fire in Kengkou, Nan 'an County (where Marshal Tiandu was deified). In addition to the conventional "silence" and "avoidance", it also imitates the blue theory and adds the word "peaceful country and peaceful people".

On behalf of the government, it is natural for Li Lan to pray for "national prosperity and security" for the people. How can Feng Shengpu pray for "national prosperity and people's safety" on behalf of Quanzhou? So this incident has caused some eyebrows in the store and the environment. Some shops negotiated with the local authorities. On the way to the pit, Marshal Fengtian stopped and grabbed his "peaceful country and people's safety" plate. From then on, the feud began.

The territory of Fengchi also worships Marshal Tiandu as the Lord of the territory. The following year, Marshal Tian, served by Fengchi, will also make a fire at the pit. In order to prevent Shengfeng's shops from retaliating, he contacted some shops in the city and some villages along the way outside the city for care. Feng Shengpu heard about it and took corresponding measures. The "East-West Buddha" was formed and the relationship deteriorated. According to legend, during the reign of Kangxi in the early Qing Dynasty, Shi Lang, a famous Quanzhou star who pacified Taiwan Province Province, had a daughter who was betrothed to the son of Fu Hongji, a famous writer in Tongli. Rich, give a skill, suitable, but Shi Lang's potential flame and honor level is one hundred times higher than Fu Hongji's, and although Fu Hongji was born in a noble family, it is inevitable that he will be sour as a scholar. When marriage is treated with courtesy, the family will benefit from it, while the rich will be thrifty, will not speculate and accumulate bad blood.

According to the old rules, on the third day of the daughter's marriage, the relatives of the female family, from father to brother, will go to the male family to visit their relatives (commonly known as "exploring the house" and "exploring the red"). General Shi sent someone to ask Fu Hanlin in advance whether to hold "official ceremony" or "civil ceremony". Fu Hanlin was very unhappy. He thought that General Shi had intentionally oppressed people with officials and lost face, but he deliberately made an appointment with "official ceremony".

On that day, General Shi, wearing a yellow coat embroidered robe, a red top and red tassels, led the children dressed in official uniforms according to their grades, surrounded by them, and came to the rich family to "explore the house" in order of seniority. When I arrived at the home of the rich, everything was as usual, as if there were no happy events. Even the hall is not paved. The strangest thing is that the patio and hall are covered with mud. General Shi and his party were standing in the yard, covered with mud under their boots. They were really furious.

After a while, Fu Hanlin came out to meet him in a half-new and not-old official uniform. General Shi met Fu Hanlin and knelt down to kowtow. Children of the same age also knelt down like him, and the brand-new imperial clothes were all dirty.

Fu Hanlin was so naughty that he really surprised General Shi! It turned out that Fu Hanlin was the "king of power" for seven days, acting as the emperor to govern North Korea. When he was in office, the emperor gave him an "iron nose", which was a symbol of the emperor. Anyone who has been a courtier should kneel down and ask for a respectful visit when he sees the "iron nose". At first, General Shi relied on his own yellow jacket, which was given by Qin. He took a lot of advantage when saluting, and then he decided to go to the formal ceremony. I didn't expect Fu Hanlin to get this treasure, but he suffered a big loss, covered in mud and disappointed.

After the "Secret Service Room" came back, General Shi was full of anger and had nowhere to vent. The most direct means of revenge is to solve it by force. At that time, General Shi's residence was in Fengchi (research: Shilang was the former residence, and later it was just at the border of Fengchi, but I'm afraid the border changed slightly later). So he called his soldiers in China and attacked Fu Hanlin. Fu Hongji's mansion is in the sacred land, so he called soldiers to resist in the territory.

Since this conflict, the term "East-West Buddha" has been established, with Fengchi as the East Buddha and sanctified as the West Buddha. The Heaven-Earth Society (also known as the Senior Citizens' Society and the Trinity Society) did not form an alliance and was divided by feudal forces.
