Can I make up the medical invoice if I lose it?

Legal analysis: medical invoices can be reissued if they are lost within two years. If the invoice of the insured is lost, it can be handled in the following ways:

1. Relevant medical institutions provide original invoice stubs and affix the official seal (or special financial seal) of the medical institutions, which will be used as reimbursement vouchers after being audited by social security agencies;

2. If it is really difficult to provide a copy of the original invoice stub, it shall provide relevant certification materials issued by the medical institution, and affix the official seal (or special financial seal) of the medical institution;

3. If a large amount of invoices are lost, the insured shall write a promise that it will not be reimbursed or handled repeatedly, and shall be filed by the social security agency.

Legal basis: Article 20 of the Measures for the Administration of Invoices in People's Republic of China (PRC). All units and individuals engaged in production and business activities shall ask the payee for invoices when purchasing goods, receiving services and paying other business expenses.
