China is rich in wind energy resources, mainly distributed in the northwest, coastal areas and the surrounding areas of inland lakes. According to the data provided by the Energy Bureau of the National Development and Reform Commission, China's wind energy resources reserves are 3.2 billion kilowatts, and its exploitable installed capacity is about 253 million kilowatts, ranking first in the world, with great potential for commercialization and large-scale development. At present, nearly 6.5438+0.5 million small wind turbines have been installed in China, which has played an important role in solving the power consumption problem of farmers and herdsmen in western areas without electricity and solved the power consumption problem of millions of farmers and herdsmen in remote rural areas in China. Because the majority of farmers and herdsmen use small wind power, it not only replaces conventional energy, reduces environmental pollution and soil erosion, improves the quality of life of farmers and herdsmen, but also provides education and production conditions for farmers and herdsmen in these areas without electricity, and promotes the development of related industries and the improvement of economic income. The work of small wind power users has played an important role in promoting the sustainable development of small wind power industry and local social economy.
With the massive emission of greenhouse gases and the worsening ecological environment, all countries in the world attach great importance to and support the development of renewable energy. As early as the end of 1970s, the government of China began to attach importance to the construction and development of rural renewable energy, including small wind power, and put forward the rural energy construction policy of "adapting to local conditions, complementing each other's energy, building comprehensively and stressing efficiency", and small wind power has also developed rapidly. According to the statistics of china association of rural energy industry Small Power Professional Committee, there are currently 47 units engaged in the development, research and production of small wind turbines in China, including universities and research institutes 16, main engine plants 10 and supporting plants10, with an annual production capacity of over 40,000 units. By the end of 2003, China had produced 268,397 small wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 78,224 kilowatts and an annual power generation of about 80.28 million kWh. China ranks first in the world in the number, annual output and production capacity of small wind turbines.
