Saints and Saints —— Zhou Dunyi, a pioneer of Neo-Confucianism.

I got to know Zhou Dunyi from Ailian, but I didn't know much about him later. However, when I read the book Zhou Dunyi, the founder of new Confucianism, and found that Zhou Dunyi was so powerful, I realized my lack of knowledge.

For Confucianism, I know Confucius and Mencius, and I also know the later Neo-Confucianism of Cheng and Zhu, and Wang Yangming, the master of "Mind Learning" in Ming Dynasty. At first, I thought Neo-Confucianism was founded by Zhu Cheng, but after reading it, I know that Zhou Dunyi started this mountain and Zhu Cheng developed it. Because of his achievements in Neo-Confucianism, later generations honored him as Zhou Zi.

One man's ambition, not a day's work, Zhou Zi teenagers frustrated, family ruined people died in loess. However, as a teenager, he was determined, absorbed in reading and thinking, and studied hard. Finally, he realized the truth of "infinite Tai Chi" and laid the ideological foundation for his later study.

Zhou Zi's ideological achievement stems from his Taiji Illustration and General Book. In Tai Chi Illustration, Zhou Zi commented that "a sage is defined as righteousness, while a master is quiet and upright", precisely because he wants to achieve "righteousness is righteousness", while ordinary books focus on life cultivation. In On Love Lotus, we can know that he yearns for a gentleman and is not disturbed by fame and fortune. Zhou Zi was diligent and devoted to the people all his life, honest and clean, and he toured everywhere. His personal character was also upright and upright. This also became the basic logic of later Neo-Confucianism.

If his Neo-Confucianism thought relies on "enlightenment", then the spread of Neo-Confucianism depends on "developing schools". Cheng Jun, who later became friends, gave him two famous figures in the history of Confucianism in China: Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi. They later laid the ideological foundation of Neo-Confucianism, making Neo-Confucianism an important branch of Confucianism.

I wonder why Zhou Zi can cultivate two masters of science at the same time. Besides the excellence of "Cheng Er" itself, I think there should be Zhou Zi's teaching methods. In the teaching process, it attaches great importance to cultivating students' development in morality, ideals and wisdom. Zhou Zi preached religion as if he were a missionary. It is said that Xi Rende, a creature that connects heaven and earth, does not seek knowledge and skills. This is his pursuit in teaching, and he also puts it into action according to this pursuit. Han Yu has a saying: teacher, preach and teach to solve doubts. As a teacher, Zhou Zi knows how to be a teacher.

Teacher's way begins with enlightenment. The enlightened way of education not only taught students themselves, but also invited academic celebrities at that time to give lectures. In that feudal era, students dared to learn from others and absorb the teaching nutrition of different celebrities. At the same time, Zhou Zi also dares to adopt the way of letting students learn independently, paying special attention to the principle of inspiration, so as to disperse students' thinking and stimulate their initiative in autonomous learning. This teaching thought not only had a great chemical effect on his students at that time, but also had a far-reaching impact on Zhou family.

What inspired me most from Zhou Zi is that if the school teaching method only teaches examination skills, but ignores the interest and essence of students' learning, it will lose the meaning of education. A set of good teaching methods can not only enlighten students' wisdom, teach the meaning of learning, but also promote the spread of ideas. This enlightened teaching method has great enlightenment to today's educational development and improvement of educational methods.

Since Zhou Zixing began to teach, education has been with him all his life. No matter what career path you take, education never stops. Every time he took office, Zhou Zi used his spare time to promote education and hold lectures in the old county school. Even after he finally retired to Lushan Mountain, he still wrote books, lectured and taught in Lianxi Bookstore, and devoted his life to teaching and educating people. In my eyes, he is not only a master of science, but also a devoted teacher. How happy he should be to be his student!

From his story, I saw an educator, a teacher who can inspire students' wisdom, and a teacher who devoted his life to education. He passed on his academic thoughts of "supreme goodness" and "utmost sincerity" to students through actions; I also saw a virtuous practitioner who practiced the ethics of "a gentleman of flowers" with practical actions.

Education is the source of power for national progress, and it is also the source of power for a person's progress. Learning is not a burden, but a kind of vitality and vigor. As Zhou Zi taught in education, seeking Tao is also seeking happiness. Those of us who study, study and think into the Tao will eventually enter the avenue in happiness, instead of causing a great burden to our hearts.

Zhou Zi lived a pure and noble life, which in turn promoted the development of society in a better direction. And education is not only for acquiring knowledge, but also for inner happiness and light.
