Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area adopts the single and even number restriction rule on weekends. Where a motor vehicle with a smaller number plate needs to pass in the restricted area of the West Lake Scenic Area, the last Arabic numeral of the number plate must be consistent with the odd and even numbers on the Gregorian calendar day. That is, the last Arabic number of the small car number plate is 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, which allows traffic on odd days and 2, 4, 6, 8 and 0 on even days. The time limit is 8: 00 am to 5: 00 pm on weekends and legal holidays throughout the year.
Single and even number restriction system is a traffic system born to alleviate the urban traffic pressure. On odd days, only private cars with odd numbers and even numbers can go on the road, and on even days, only private cars with even numbers and even numbers can go on the road. The following motor vehicles are not restricted by single and even number driving measures, and are allowed to drive on the roads within the administrative area of this Municipality:

During the peak hours of working days, motor vehicles are prohibited from driving in the whole section.
(3) The following vehicles are not subject to the "peak-shifting restriction".
1. Large buses, buses, inter-provincial long-distance passenger vehicles, passenger taxis and urban express vehicles;
2. Military (Armed Police) vehicles, police cars, fire engines, ambulances, engineering rescue vehicles, and other vehicles that are not restricted by driving routes, driving directions and lane separation as stipulated by laws and regulations.
