National festivals
Tiaopo Festival (Miao nationality)
Slope jumping festival is the largest and most solemn traditional folk festival for Miao residents in Longlin County. The time is from the second day of the first lunar month to the fifteenth Lantern Festival every year. The place where the slope jumps has its own agreement, which is to jump a slope every day for rotation.
Torch Festival (Yi nationality)
"Torch Festival" means burning torches and celebrating festivals around bonfires. June 24th of the lunar calendar is the Torch Festival of the Yi people. On this day every year, Yi residents wear national costumes to celebrate the festival for three days. Before the festival, every family should prepare rich food and enjoy and entertain relatives and friends during the festival. During the festival, daytime activities mainly include polishing autumn, discrediting face, horse racing, bullfighting, wrestling and kicking shuttlecock.
Taste the new festival (Gelao nationality)
Tasting New Year Festival, also called Eating New Year Festival, is the biggest festival for the Gelao people living in Longlin. Every year before and after the summer harvest, the new grain in the field is ripe, and the Gelao people hold "tasting the new" activities.
National customs
Luo Dian Luo Dianna Peggy (Zhuang)
"Tiaoluo Tiaoluo Na" is a unique folk song that spreads in Zhuang villages in Longlin County, upper reaches of Nanpanjiang River. "Upset Down" is a social song sung by young people at the invitation of other stockaded villages. When local residents visit relatives and friends, get married and hold banquets to celebrate their new houses, as long as there are young people, they should sing, especially wedding banquets.
Weeping marriage (Gaoshan Han nationality)
"Weeping marriage" is an ancient and unique marriage custom of the Han nationality in Longlin County. Whose daughter is going to get married and can't bear to leave her parents, brothers and sisters? Three days before leaving home, she began to hide in her room and cry, commonly known as "crying marriage." At first, a person cried silently, then sobbed and sobbed.
