Why did Dayu vote for Jiuding?
Ancient floods flooded. Dayu visited the thatched cottage three times and led the people in the world to control water for decades, and finally he was done. All the ministries in the world joined the league in Tushan and elected Dayu as the son of heaven.
"Shan Hai Jing" records: the golden casting tripod of Jiumu.
After Dayu pacified the world, he divided it into Kyushu, namely Jizhou, Yanzhou, Qingzhou, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, Jingzhou, Yuzhou, Liangzhou and Yongzhou. All the ministries in Kyushu contributed metals within their jurisdiction. Dayu collected the gold from Kyushu, cast it into nine cauldrons, sent it to various places, and distributed it to Kyushu to protect the world.
What is Dayu Jiuding like?
According to Shan Hai Jing, there are country names, mountains and rivers, and strange places.
Jiuding, cast by Dayu, not only records the names of many tribes, but also many mountains, rivers and various exotic birds and animals. It can be said that Dayu Jiuding is not only a tripod, but also a rare picture of birds and beasts in ancient times, and it is also a symbol of the unity of the world and mountains and rivers.
After Dayu's death, his son Qi established the Xia Dynasty, the first slave dynasty in China, and Jiuding became a symbol of the fate of the Xia Dynasty.
Many years later, Shang Tang rose, overthrew Xia Dynasty, seized Jiuding and established Shang Dynasty.
Later, King Wu of Zhou attacked and overthrew the Shang Dynasty. Jiuding was also incorporated and moved to Haojing, the capital of Zhou Dynasty.
When Zhou Chengwang moved eastward, Dayu moved Jiuding to Luoyang.
After thousands of years of inheritance, Dayu Jiuding symbolizes the country, and the concept of the national tripod and the national tripod is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
It is for this reason that in 606 BC, Chu Zhuangwang approached Luoyang with a great army and threatened the Zhou Dynasty. At that time, the emperor of the Zhou Dynasty was the king of Zhou Ding. He was frustrated many times, but in desperation he could only send someone to reward the Chu army for peace talks. At the banquet, Chu Zhuangwang asked the angel of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty about the size of Jiuding.
so this is it? Zhuang Wang won the championship? The origin of the story.
Many years later, Qin Shihuang destroyed the six countries and proclaimed himself emperor. He thought he had surpassed Huang San, made contributions to the Five Emperors, and was pretentious? First emperor? . Since he was the first emperor in history, he was destined to return, and naturally he could not do without Jiuding.
Qin Shihuang sent people to Luoyang many times to torture officials of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty and inquire about Jiuding's whereabouts. But I was told that Jiuding had long been lost, and the last place where Jiuding appeared was above Surabaya.
According to Han Shu written by Ban Gu, at the end of the Warring States Period, due to the gradual decline of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Qin Chu coveted Jiuding, and even Luoyang, the capital of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, was captured several times. Jiuding had to be transferred many times in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. The last transfer, the ship escorting Jiuding passed through Surabaya and was caught in a storm. The boat capsized, sank and fell into Surabaya.
According to historical records, in 2 19 BC, that is, in the twenty-eighth year of Qin Shihuang, Qin Shihuang came to Pengcheng specially after completing the ceremony of offering sacrifices to heaven on Mount Tai. He sent thousands of people to Surabaya to find the whereabouts of Jiuding.
However, I searched for more than half a month and found nothing.
In Li Daoyuan's Notes on Water Classics, there is a very legendary record:
It is said that Qin Shihuang sent thousands of people to fish for a tripod, and after a hard search, he found the whereabouts of a big tripod. However, just as everyone was trying to pull the tripod out of the depths of Surabaya, a dragon suddenly appeared and bit off the rope, and the tripod suddenly fell back into Surabaya. When Qin Shihuang ordered people to look for it again, where could he see the trace of Dading?
Judging from Li Daoyuan's Notes on Water Classics, there is no record of Dayu Jiuding's whereabouts in the history books since 12000.
So, where does Dayu Jiuding live? Is it really the appearance of dragons that hinders Qin Shihuang's fishing in Surabaya?
There was a famous scholar in Qing Dynasty named Wang Xianqian, who was very good at Jiuding. He consulted historical materials and put forward a brand-new view on the whereabouts of Dayu Jiuding.
It is believed that Dayu Jiuding has been destroyed by Zhou people.
In the middle and late Warring States period, princes rose and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty declined. Often faced with the danger of national subjugation, and Qin Chu is eyeing Jiuding, it is no longer a blessing for the weak Zhou Dynasty to have Jiuding.
In addition, the Zhou dynasty was surrounded by many heroes for a long time, and the country was weak and financially difficult. Originally, it was very likely that Zhou people destroyed the tripod and cast money to ease the financial pressure, but lied to the outside world that Jiuding had fallen.
As for the first emperor fishing tripod and dragon making trouble, Wang Xianqian disagreed. In his view, Qin Shihuang was not respected by later generations because he enjoyed a short time and practiced tyranny. That's why there are rumors that the first emperor was blocked by dragons.
But the theory of Xiaolong is absurd, and it should be based on Sima Qian's Historical Records. Wang Xianqian's guess about the whereabouts of Dayu Jiuding is reasonable, but unfortunately, due to the lack of clear historical support and physical witness, it is still only a guess.
Where Dayu Jiuding went and whether he still exists today is still a mystery.
