Introduction of Suzhou Street in Summer Palace

Suzhou Street, located in the back lake of the Summer Palace, the largest royal garden in China, is a commercial street modeled after the water town in the south of the Yangtze River. The prototype is Qilishantang, the first street in Suzhou, and Bai Juyi was appointed as the governor of Suzhou Secretariat. During the Qingyi Garden period, there were various shops on the shore, such as jade antique shops, satin shops, dim sum shops, tea houses, and the silver jewelry building in Suzhou Street of Jinxia Palace. The shop assistants are all dressed up by eunuchs and maids. The emperor started his business when he was lucky. Dozens of shops on the shore of Houhu Lake were burned down by foreign powers at 1860. The present landscape was rebuilt by 1986.
