Nankai University Intelligent Information Processing Laboratory (NKU, IIPLab) was established in 1998, which belongs to Nankai University School of Software. The main research directions of intelligent information processing laboratory include: data mining and knowledge engineering, text mining and network retrieval, intelligent robot control, mobile robot navigation, multi-robot coordination, embedded system, biological information processing, middleware technology and interaction design. Professor Huang Yalou presided over the establishment of the first experimental system of industrial robot operation force control GRAFC in China on1990-1994, and established a coordinated control system of dual industrial robots with international advanced level as the main research developer. 1992 took the lead in developing micro-drive robot system and its application research in China. 1996 built the first high-precision robot system for micro-operation in China; 1996, research on mobile robot with trailer started; 1998, the first mobile robot experimental system with trailer was established in China; Since 1996, the research on intelligent information processing has been carried out, and the data mining software systems RoboMiner and Infox have been designed and developed, which have been effectively applied in bank credit card information analysis, civil aviation revenue management research, athlete physical fitness test data analysis and so on.
The intelligent information processing laboratory has established a perfect postgraduate training mechanism, created a strong academic atmosphere, and achieved fruitful results in personnel training. Intelligent information processing laboratory, formerly known as intelligent computing and information processing laboratory, was established in 2003. It is the earliest laboratory established by the School of Software Engineering of Dalian University of Technology, initiated by Professor Zhang Xianchao, director of the Department of Software Engineering. At present, there are 5 professors 1, associate professors 1 and lecturers, all of whom have doctoral degrees from famous universities (or are studying for doctoral degrees). The signal and information processing laboratory of Xinjiang University was formerly the key laboratory of applied optics and optoelectronics approved by Xinjiang University in 2004.
