Tianjin Maritime College originated from Tianjin Institute of Science and Technology and was established in 1962. In February 2006, Tianjin Maritime College was established with the approval of Tianjin Municipal People's Government, and now it is under the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission. College is located in Haihe Education Park, covering an area of 976 mu, with a building area of more than 200,000 square meters, with more than 10,000 students 1 10,000.
The College is the "Training Base for Maritime Transport Skills Talents in Binhai New Area" established by the Ministry of Education and the Tianjin Municipal Government, and is a crew training institution approved by the National Maritime Safety Administration. With the qualification of seafarers' education and training recognized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), it is the largest and most comprehensive seafarers' education and training base in northern China.
The college consists of eight teaching departments: navigation technology department, marine engineering department, shipping economics department, cruise tourism department, information engineering department, engineering technology department, basic education (sports) department and ideological and political education department. There are more than 100 on-campus training rooms, such as aquatic teaching center and fully simulated ship maneuvering simulation, and nearly 150 training bases have been established with well-known enterprises at home and abroad.
Focusing on the national strategy of maritime power, the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the strategy of "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development", the College has built six characteristic professional groups and 32 majors, including navigation technology, ship and marine engineering equipment, digital port and shipping economy, cruise tourism, modern information technology and special equipment.

The college covers an area of 976 mu, with a construction land of 6 15 mu and a total construction area of17.6438+033400 square meters in the first phase. The college has modern teaching buildings, student apartments, canteens, libraries, electronic reading rooms, multimedia classrooms, sports venues, advanced facilities and equipment, professional experiments and training rooms.
There are nearly 7000 students in the school. There are 432 faculty members in the college, including 256 full-time teachers, with intermediate or above 189, accounting for 73.8%.
