University of Electronic Science and Technology of China is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, formerly known as Chengdu Institute of Telecommunications Engineering. It was formed by the merger of telecommunications engineering majors of Jiaotong University (now Shanghai Jiaotong University and Xi Jiaotong University), Nanjing Institute of Technology (now Southeast University) and South China University of Technology (now South China University of Technology).
