The reason why the mobile phone can't be used on the plane is that the mobile phone will search for signals after it is turned on during the take-off and landing stages of the plane, and the frequency used by the mobile phone is similar to or even superimposed with the electromagnetic wave frequency connected between the plane and the tower, which may be regarded as an operation signal sent by the tower, leading to misoperation.
In order to solve this problem, smartphone manufacturers have provided a "flight mode" solution. "Flight mode" means that the mobile phone communication module is turned off, and it is impossible to answer calls and send short messages, and there is no signal contact with the base station. From the technology itself, it basically solves the problem of signal interference caused by mobile phones.
However, the main reason why domestic airlines do not accept the "flight mode" is that the Civil Aviation Administration of China has not certified the flight mode. In other words, the method adopted by CAAC is undoubtedly the safest and most inflexible.
Therefore, the "flight mode" is feasible in practical use. After the signal is cut off, there is not much difference between mobile phones and notebook computers, MP3 players, handheld electronic game consoles and other devices. It is only a matter of time before the "flight mode" is recognized.
