Brief introduction of Erenhot in Inner Mongolia

Erenhot is located in the northern part of the autonomous region, bordering the northern Mongolian port city of Zamenud. The distance between the two cities is 4.5 kilometers, with Zuo Qi in Su Nite of Xilin Gol League in the east and Sunite Right Banner in the west and south.

It is 360 kilometers away from Xilinhot, 390 kilometers away from Hohhot and 690 kilometers away from Beijing. It is the closest border land port to the capital Beijing. It is 7 14km away from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and 7,623km away from Moscow, the Russian capital. The border line is 72.3km long. It is the largest land port opened by China to Mongolia, the frontier and window for the opening of the country and the autonomous region to the north, and the recent "bridgehead" of the Eurasian Continental Bridge (Beijing goes to Moscow via Erenhot than via Binzhou Line11.

The jurisdiction area is 40 15 square kilometers, and the urban built-up area is 27 square kilometers. It has a Sumu (5 Gacha) and 8 communities under its jurisdiction. Erenhot is one of the earliest places in Asia where dinosaurs and dinosaur eggs were discovered. It is the world's largest burial place of Cretaceous dinosaur fossils, National Geopark 134 square kilometers.

Erenhot has 5.77 million mu of grassland and 250,000 mu of forest, with a green coverage rate of 36.5%.

2. Mineral resources

The main minerals in Erenhot are uranium, oil and gas, mirabilite and fluorite. Uranium deposits occur in coarse clastic rocks of Jurassic, Cretaceous and Paleogene, oil and gas fields are mainly produced in fine clastic rocks of Jurassic and Cretaceous, and oil and gas resources are mainly concentrated in Erlianhao area in the southwest of the city. Fluorite resources mainly include Baiyin Aobao and Hadahusu fluorite mines.

3. Biological resources

There are more than 40 species of wild plants in Erenhot, belonging to 18 family and 35 genera. The main plants are Stipa Gobi, Stipa stipulata, Cryptomeria fortunei, Artemisia frigida, Agropyron deserticola, Artemisia scoparia, Carex, Nitraria, Stipa mongolica, Allium mongolicum and so on. Among them, the common medicinal plants are ephedra, Limonium sinense, Zhidan, Cistanche deserticola, Cynomorium songaricum and so on. There are not many kinds of wild animals, mainly wolves, foxes, badgers and antelopes.
