Educational research method is a method of organizing, planning and constructing educational theory in a certain way. It is a systematic research process with educational phenomena as the object, scientific methods as the means, following certain research procedures and acquiring knowledge of educational laws as the purpose. The result is to explain or predict, discover or develop certain educational principles, principles and theories, which are both a knowledge system (way of thinking) and a behavior rule (way of behavior).
Basic research: mainly studies educational affairs and reveals the inherent laws of educational activities. It aims to understand the world and increase scientific knowledge itself. It doesn't have to consider where its research results can be put into practice, and it may not necessarily produce direct and useful results.
Applied research: it mainly applies the laws or rules put forward by educational affairs research to educational practice activities, thus directly guiding or improving educational practice activities and improving the effectiveness and rationality of educational practice activities. It aims to transform the world, solve some specific practical problems and provide practitioners with direct and useful knowledge.
Qualitative research: refers to a research method that uses the methods of field experiment, open interview, participation observation and case investigation in the natural environment to make a long-term in-depth and detailed analysis of research phenomena, establish hypotheses and theories on this basis, and test the research results through perjury and related tests.
Quantitative research: it refers to a research paradigm that establishes research hypotheses in advance, carries out strict research design, collects data and makes quantitative analysis according to predetermined procedures, expresses research results with graphs or measurements, and tests the hypotheses.
