When is the plum rain?

In the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, there is a rainy season every year. It often rains in rainy season. This time is also when plums are ripe, so it is called rainy season. I don't know when it will end. When do we usually refer to the rainy season? Let me introduce it to you.

1. What is Meiyu?

In the south of China, the popular proverb "Rain hits Huangmei's head and there is no sun for forty-five days" is the main feature of rainy season. So what is the rainy season?

The stay time of rain belt in early summer is called "Meiyu season", the day when Meiyu season begins is called "entering plum blossom", and the day when it ends is called "emerging plum blossom". In the rainy season, things are easy to get moldy, so it is called "moldy rain". In rainy season, plums are yellow and ripe, so it is also called "Huang Meiyu". In the rainy season, there will often be gloomy and rainy weather that lasts for a long time, and the air is filled with fine and continuous broken rain.

2. The formation of plum rain

Every year from late May to early June, cold air from the north and warm air from the south meet in South China, forming a quasi-stationary peak in South China. Because the warm air from the south carries a lot of water vapor, when it meets the cold air mass, it will produce a lot of convection activities. Because the strength of cold and warm air is equal during this period, the front stays in the Jianghuai area, forming continuous rainy weather.

3. Meiyu time in different regions

Although Meiyu is a unique weather and climate in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, its appearance is not isolated, but closely related to the north-south displacement of a large-scale rain belt.

From mid-May to early June, in the east of China, the main rain belt swings in Nanling Mountains and the area south of Nanling. After mid-June, the area south of Nanling has been outside the rain belt, and the rainy weather has ended.

In the middle and late June, the main rain belt moved northward within the range of 29° n-33° n (that is, from Yichang in the west, to the Yangtze River estuary in the east, and then across the sea to Japan; From the two lakes plain in the south to the south bank of Huaihe River in the north, it is stable and less moving.

From mid-June, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China bid farewell to the sunny early summer and ushered in the rainy season. Heavy rain and torrential rain appeared from time to time until the beginning of July. This is the famous rainy season in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

4. Areas with plum rains

Meiyu mainly occurs in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China and the southernmost part of Taiwan Province Province, Liaodong Peninsula, Korean Peninsula and south-central Japan in the subtropical monsoon climate zone. There is no plum rain in other parts of the world at the same latitude. There is no obvious plum rain in South China.

5. Precautions in rainy season

(1) Pay attention to moisture.

Meiyu is a high incidence of rheumatic pain. According to relevant data, the number of rheumatic patients in the rainy areas in the south is obviously higher than that in the arid north. Therefore, in order to prevent wet evil from taking advantage of it, a dehumidifier should be prepared at home during the rainy season, and some lime can be sprinkled in the corner. When decorating the floor, you should spread a moisture-proof film and try not to stay in a damp place.

(2) Pay attention to diet

Eat more foods that strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness. Lentils, coix seed and wax gourd all have the effects of invigorating spleen and eliminating dampness, so you should eat more in rainy season.

Eat less wet and cold food, such as cold drinks, habits, pears, etc.

(3) Pay attention to your daily life

Arrange exercise reasonably, strengthen physical exercise and enhance immunity. Arrange your schedule reasonably, and don't stay up late.

6. What if the clothes are not dry on rainy days?

1, wash clothes and dry them.

Many people don't hang clothes in summer, thinking that the evaporation in summer is large and clothes are easy to dry. But in this rainy day, it is too difficult not to dry clothes, and there is nothing I can do. Every time I wash clothes, whether it is washing in the washing machine or washing by hand, I take it to the washing machine and spin it dry. After this spin-drying, the clothes are basically half dry. In summer, clothes are very thin and dry in half a day.

2. Dry with a dryer

If the clothes are not dry, but you are in a hurry to wear them, you can use the dryer to dry them. Although this method is not well done, it is also a good way for temporary emergency. In fact, it rains every summer in cities near the sea in the south of China, such as Guangdong. People who live there basically have dryers at home. Because it rains almost every day in summer, clothes often need to be dried. Therefore, we can also have a dryer at home and use it occasionally.

3. concentrate on sunny days before washing.

In fact, there is a better way to solve the problem that clothes can't be dried on rainy days, that is, put dirty clothes in the laundry basket and wash them together on sunny days, so that they can be dried in the sun in time. Because clothes washed in rainy days are never dried in the sun, it is not hygienic to dry them in the shade. It's best to wash dirty clothes together until sunny day, and it will be cleaner after sunset. But this method requires that you have enough clothes to change.
