Pottery modeling mainly includes jars, urns, cans, bowls and so on. , of which the cylinders are the most. Porcelain glazes are mainly blue-brown, yellow-brown, sauce brown and so on. Most kiln furniture is a straight cylinder with a little support.
According to the local villagers, according to the legend of the older generation, the ceramic industry in the village was very prosperous in ancient times. At the peak, there were 99 kilns. Many people dug up a large number of ancient pottery fragments of different sizes when drilling wells and building houses. They also saw intact porcelain pots and pots, but they didn't know they were what people called cultural relics.
Shangyao Village is close to Meijiang River, with convenient water transportation and extremely rich porcelain clay in the territory. In the 1970s, some kiln sites were still producing ceramics, and Yaotang Village, opposite the river bank, was the city site of the county during the Western Han Dynasty.
Han Zhenfei, director of Ganzhou Cultural Relics Bureau, director of the museum and researcher of Wenbo, believes that there are a large number of ancient kiln sites in Tang and Song Dynasties, which are densely distributed and rich in accumulation layers.
