Extended data:
Chengdu Children's Welfare Institute implements the policy of combining education, education, treatment and health care for hospitalized children. All healthy school-age children are sent to nearby primary and secondary schools. Preschool children receive general education in our hospital, children with moderate and mild disabilities receive physical rehabilitation training and special education, and children with severe disabilities receive special treatment and supervision.
Chengdu Children's Welfare Institute has implemented six modes: centralized support, individual adoption, social support, branch support, family foster care and parents' family support. In order to let orphans and disabled children enjoy the warmth of family again, the hospital introduced family foster care and parents' home care in 2000 and 2004 respectively.
Children in the hospital will be raised in urban and rural community families or a simulated family will be formed by recruited "parents" and 8 children. This fully embodies the "people-oriented" concept, so that children can get humanized and personalized development. To lay a good foundation for them to leave the welfare home in the future and continue to grow healthily.
