1, ask the airline in advance. At present, many foreign airlines allow small pets (such as cats, rabbits, puppies, etc.) to stay in the cabin with their owners, but they must always stay in the pet suitcase and put the suitcase under the seat of the plane. There are specific regulations on the size of pet suitcases. But some airlines only allow pets and suitcases to be put in the luggage compartment together. If this is the case, be sure to consult in advance whether the luggage compartment has the conditions of heat preservation and oxygen supply. If there is no temperature regulation, pets will freeze to death or die of heat at high altitude.
It is common for pets to travel by plane with their owners abroad, so foreign airlines are more experienced in pet opportunities and more tolerant and friendly to pets. At present, China International Airlines does not stipulate that pets can stay in the cabin.
2. Buy a pet suitcase. The size depends on the regulations of the airline you want to choose. The pet suitcase should be padded with water-absorbing materials to avoid discomfort after the pet gets wet.
3. Fees: Usually, every airline will charge fees according to the weight of pets (including suitcases) and the price of checked baggage.
4. Before boarding the plane, be sure to get in touch with the flight crew, so that they can be sure that there will be a pet boarding the plane, and the necessary conditions for the pet boarding are ready. The ticket office may not inform you of your crew.
5. Remind again: Many pets will get carsick, so be sure to contact your veterinarian in advance and ask for his advice to determine whether your pet is healthy and suitable for air travel. If your pet has a history of carsickness, you need to discuss with the veterinarian to decide whether your pet can travel. Prepare related drugs (such as taking Halonen or sedatives). Even pets that don't get carsick, it's best to have sedatives in case of emergency. It is best to dissolve the medicine in water and push it into the pet's mouth with a syringe. You should have a spare syringe ready.
Boarding:
1, before boarding, reconfirm with your flight crew that they know the pet registration and make corresponding preparations (especially if the pet wants to enter the luggage compartment).
2. Travel preparation. Even pets who are not carsick are advised to fast at least 3 hours before boarding the plane and urinate before boarding the plane to reduce the discomfort and burden on the stomach during high-altitude travel. It is best not to feed during the flight. If it is a long flight, you can put some snacks.
Be sure to put your name and contact information, flight number, destination, etc. Put it on the trunk of the pet, and put a collar and identification tag on the pet to indicate his identity and contact information, so as to avoid mistakes or accidents, and lose or stray the pet. Write in Chinese and foreign languages. Check whether the door of the pet box is closed.
4. You can put some pets' favorite toys in the box to reduce the pet's anxiety.
Pets need to drink water regularly. You need to put a special water bottle in your suitcase and train your pet how to use it in advance. If the water bowl is used, it may upset and wet the pet box during the flight, causing discomfort to the pet.
Pet-specific water bottles are sold in pet shops.
6. Ensure that all animal quarantine documents or notarized documents required for entry are handled.
7. Ask in advance how long it will take to get into the airport in advance. Generally speaking, people who carry animals should register in advance than ordinary passengers.
8. Even airlines that allow pets to stay in the cabin during the flight are generally not allowed to take pets out of the cage. If you need to give medicine or check the pet's condition, you need to communicate with the crew in advance to avoid misunderstanding.
